Return? I'm going to use it to pay 2003/2004 taxes.

Re: Tax Return Money 2006

Other than the mortgage, and the Best Buy card, we are out of debt. Pay off Best Buy, and the rest for travel.

This year: El Salvador/Costa Rica in July, Menton (France) in February, and Kalamata (Greece) if our friend actually gets married in April (doubtful).

I'll be watching everyone else get their tax returns and grumble about 17 year olds not being adults...

Re: Tax Return Money 2006

I prefer to owe at the end of the year. That means that the money was earning interest for me, not the bureacrats, during the previous year. (Remember that any refund is the amount you overpaid.) Ideally, I'd like to have all the money in my bank account and pay the whole thing in one lump sum instead of through withholding. Withholding is a scam to hide the sheer size of the bite, introduced in WWII as a wartime measure and promised to be ended when the war is over. (Did you know we still pay taxes on the Spanish-American war?)

Oh, I've always had returns in the past, 2003/2004 was the only exception. I own my house so the mortgage interest has always helped out in the juicy return department. The baby is just going to make it that much better!

I think I'm meant to be paying taxes. I should look into that. Or I could sit here and refresh the forums looking for new posts as a means of avoiding sleep.
