Thanks a lot

Was supposed to be working on one of my 3 term papers/1 senior thesis paper due within the next two weeks tonight But instead I spent 3 hours playing BF2 on the with the only community worth playing with. Decided to take a break and decided to take a quick glance at ASE. 62/64 at around 10-1030 so I decided I' release some tension and play a round. I ended up playing 4.5 (Mashtuur, Zatar, Dalian, Daqing, and Sharqi). I had a fun. Spent half the night in Luckyshot's squad until my computer crashed right as I was about to take out wussypoo's mobile AA at the old village on the oil field. I probably should've taken the crash as a hint to either go to bed or get back to work but I figured I was ahead of schedule on the papers so it was ok to try and finish the round out. Unfortunately, and expectedly by the time I got back my old squad had replaced me and I finished the round bouncing around squads until the map finished.

Mashtuur: Joined towards the end of the round. All I have to say is the Blackhawk crew was certainly doing their job from what I saw/experienced briefly.

Zatar: MEC forces were all over us from the beginning with continuous waves of armor on attacking the village and the airfield. A guess a squad managed to break through and were able to capture the natural gas station. I switched to Lucky's squad and helped hold off a number of assaults until the end. the

Highlight: trying to stay as still as possible in the water as a jeep and apc patrol the river by factory. Doesn't work.

Dalian: Did an amphibious assault on the Northern CP with two boats and a blackhawk. We fought hard as PLA forces were coming from the Factory and what looked like Bane's squad was spawning from the water behind the garage like rabbits. We finally fell as we left the APC vacant just a bit too long and one of the badguys hopped in and pushed us off the flag. We spent the rest of the round fighting over the Construction site as the PLA needed to get their armor through. It felt like Bommando's artillery was falling non stop on our position. Well played by our squad as we rarely had any armor yet were able to fight off a number of attacks and continuously contest the flag. I think our squad died more to the artillery and helo/plane attacks than infantry fire while fighting over the construction site.

Highlight: Killing Bane's APC with the stationary AA at the North Shore Point.

Daqing: Struckout quickly for the Refinery. Captured it. Attacked the West Oilfields. Captured it. Defended the West Oilfields. Attacked the Powerstation. Captured it. Attacked the Old Village. Definitely not as easy as the first three assaults. It took a couple of tries to gain the advantage, it was well defended by the squad there. Just as we were looking to push through my computer rebooted.

Highlight: After rebooting to windows deciding to play some more.

Sharqi: Joined a Sniper squad. Never thought I would, but decided to try something new. Pretty fun. Got some good kills, got killed good. Did more at the beginning when there were more people but the population slowly died out as the round went on. Fewer targets to hit I guess.

Highlight: Setting claymore traps

again thanks to everyone who made an unproductive night well worth it. Decided to write this up since I probably wont be back on the servers until the 17th.

More fun than a term paper!

Highlight for me was that when I joined there was already a pre-made squad called the 42nd. When I joined, everyone else left. Cmon, I bathed! This week even!! My 1 man squad quickly grew from castoffs from other squads and even though I only played for about 5 minutes we earned top squad! I can only attribute this to the excellent squad leadership in every other squad on our side to allow these guys to get all their points before joining my squad.

As an SL, I started out way too aggressive, especially at the north docks and the Warehouse and ultimately it cost us those flags. I played back a bit and let the squad do the work on the Construction site and we were much more effective as a team. Great job to the guys on this level as witnessed by the amount of attention we received. There was a new CO on this map and he was in a little over his head. Abra did a number on his assets and distracted him pretty good.

Good map for our squad as we were able to grab some western flags, and held out at the eastern oilfields for a long time after you left. Ran into a well disciplined squad at the Old Village, especially with the large number of armor they had. They caught on very quick to where we were every time we attacked and with 2-3 tanks, an AA vehicle and a chopper in their possession, they were a force to be reckoned with. We were all over this map and varied our attack patterns greatly which always makes it more fun.

The 42nd set out early to defend the TV station and defend it we did. We didn't see many infantry, mostly choppers and artillery although it was good to see Merlin back on the server. He CO'd the opposite side and is a solid player. The TV Station survived all attacks. Even though our squad had the fewest points, I thought we were extremely effective. FPS Douglass shot down the chopper in a tank somewhere close to 9 or 10 times. I have never born witness to a tank raping a chopper like that. It brought a tear to my eye... *sniff*

Had a good mixture of vets and new faces in my squad tonight. I think it gave some of the newer guys a chance to play TG style. I have nothing but positives to say about how everyone performed tonight and the new guys were extremely proficient. Thanks again for all who made their way through the 42nd squad tonight!

Hey, any time you have another need to avoid something painful, like filling out rebate forms, or painting a room, you are more than welcome in my squad!

Re: Thanks a lot

Zatar was just crushing.. The MEC just completely dominated, starting in the air. Faultline had more kills than THE NEXT THREE GUYS COMBINED!

Ground troops and our jet squad did well to keep flags and keep enemy fighters off of us. We had the easy part of just cleaning up white flags and taking out sneaky incoming boats or black hawks.

Why? Doesn't that map have lots of helicopter action? Sniping could also be fun there. I like the views on that map. Today I was sitting in a tank on that hill over the ford north of the farm and thought I could take a nap on the grass
