Smile First time SLing, Dec 8th Daqing and Dragon Valley

Today I ventured into SLing a bit for the first time on TG. And i liked it.

First map was Daqing Oilfields as MEC. Just 16 guys on the server when i joined and we were bleeding. So i decided to try something new. Create my own squad.
Dubbed "Fastcappers" the idea was to move around and cap undefended flags quickly. The commander (phenom872) was sending me back and forth, giving me airsupport where needed. I capped a few flags, then people started joining the squad. And thats when the stress started I had a hard time coordinating the squad, talking to the commander, keeping a view on the battlefield and of course - staying alive. My squadmembers where awesome in working their way through enemy positions! (if only i could remember all the names).
I stayed out of the action most of the time. Everybody did a great job capping central and eastern flags and holding them against pushing troops, armor, arty and cobras. We came out top squad that round and next up was Dragon Valley...

We started to set up a defense on hill village. Just as we had fought off tank and buggy attacks i noticed Andy-Wan on text chat writing that he cant hear me over VOIP. That was about 5 minutes into the round. I was talking to my squad and the CO for these 5 minutes and never noticed that nobody would hear me. 3 "radio checks" came out with no reply so i decided to restart the game...
Just as i had quit the game i remembered that i pushed the mute botton on my Gamevoice set during the loading screen (for what reason i do not know)... i felt stupid.
I rejoined, formed a new squad and Andy-Wan was kind enough to join and reply to my radio check
The squad filled up quickly and we went on to take Wood Yard and Power Station, setting up defense at the refinery entry and later on defend the power station from like a million troops.
I managed to stay alive most of the time and my squad again did an excellent job killing enemies. It still felt a bit chaotic for me, getting to know the SL role and all the stuff that comes with it - but it sure was lots of fun.
Thanks to all of you who played in my squad today. I hope you will be back for more next time. Any Feedback is appreciated.

Next time i wont be pressing that mute button and talk to myself for 5 minutes. Promise.

SL'ing is a blast when you have a good squad....something that happens very often here at TG.

Wolf I hopped in with you on DV. Great job SLing, especially for your first time
We did very well getting the Power Station, with so many enemies about. You moved nicely behind the cover of the treeline while the enemies were distracted with the rest of us and put yourself on top of the roof. It worked perfectly!

The earlier hours, when the server is just filling up, are a great time for a 'Learn TG' squad. You get a lot of new people coming online and fewer established TG SLs are around. And the people who join your squad won't get kicked from server overflow.
