were offended by me dropping the f bomb on my mic tonight. we have the language filter for a reason, but i was completely frustrated by two players who were new to TG and treated it like a pub after it took me like 10 min just to get into TG. it was a capt. game too

Don't sweat it. A player who has never uttered a curse on our servers is rare indeed :-P

Only a consistantly repeated offense without an effort to stop is an actual problem, not because of the language but instead because its a sign of no maturity.

Bugger is a sex act, not a swear word. The F word is a sex act AND a swear word.

The only difference I see is that most people here don't know the significance of "bugger"...

Heh... It's a word to describe a sex act, and you're using it to emphasize an expression, right?

It might be a socially acceptable swear word, but it's still a swear word.

Just like when I say "Screw that!" It's a swear word, used in much the same manner as the F-word, but it's much more socially acceptable. I think that you use "bugger" in much the same manner, no?

That said, using such language is not necessarily against the rules, but using such language and directing it in a disrespectful way at a specific person would very much be against the rules. (Example: the difference between "screw that" and "screw you"...)

Anyway, the first part of this post was in response to root, but it's semantics. The second part is directed at everyone to clarify what's acceptable here at TG.
