Mashtuur, Tues., 12/13, ~7:30 PST

Just wanted to give Santa as CO some major props, along with my squad, squad7 (Lucky Shot, Bane2, Snail88, heyob, & LtMeegan), for helping our team to win this Mashtuur round for the USMC. Santa first tasked us to defend the Backyard, which we did so without too much action. Then we were sent to the Power Station, which little did I know, would be our last flag of the night.

When we got close, Bane2 managed to steal their tank at the Power Station flag, where at which point, we all moved in and took it. Okay, no big deal, except that our team started losing flags all around the Power Station flag: the Hotel, North Gas Station, Mosque, and Backyard. At one point, our team also lost the bh and the South Gas Station. It did not seem like it was going well. It was funny in a dark humor way, cause I could hear Santa on the mic sighing the times we lost the bh. This is when things really heated up.

I wanted to move my squad out and keep some of the pressure off the PS flag, but Santa would have none of that. The tank spawn alone at the Power Station was important enough to stay, as it deprived the MEC of their tank. So, for the next 3/4s of the round, we stayed and held on and fought and would not give up that flag. We were attacked from so many different places that I started to get confused about where to have my squad focus their defense. Shoot, we ended with best squad because of all that action. The end result: we never lost that flag.

Things seemed to stabilize closer to the last 1/4 of the round, as we weren't being attacked nearly as much. By that time, the rest of the team had captured some flags and regained the bh, and we ended up winning 235-0. Great game by all.

It was a good round for sure. I remember going against Beatnik's Bunch several times (Defending the Wall leading to the Backyard, and their attacks on the Power Station). There were a ton of attacks on that Power Station flag and it was clear that the MEC wanted it. The MEC sent some of the most respected to try and dislodge us from that flag (B, Beatnik, Tempus, Asch, Abra). They were close several times, but the guys pulled together and always managed to hold on. The attacks from the upper ridge were tough to combat, but it was when the MEC sent two squads simultaneously that they gave us the most trouble.

Props to you Gunrack as you gave good direction, good communication, and gave us the leeway to make it happen. Excellent job as always!

Great games!

Beatnik's Bunch. I like that. I'll be Greg Beatnik. No...Peter. ok Greg.

We had a pretty inconsistent time that map. Everyone had a good time, but getting certain objectives was definitely tough. Those were some of the better, more organized defenses I've tried to challenge, and from multiple squads as well. I really hate trying to assault the backyard across the river bank with a line of hungry guys waiting to kill me.

We had our small victories though. Like grabbing and holding the backyard, getting to knife Jusb, and (finally) taking the South Gas Station from Santa's minions. It was too late to be significant, but it was a moral victory for my guys.

That was an amazing round we had. It was def tough repelleing wave after wave coming from all dif directions.

At one point they had our BH even though we had the south gas. They took it (of course) right to us lol. They would make a pass then go up on the mountain to repair. We almost got it a few times but then finally i think he just crashed or somethin cuz we all heard it explode up top. That was funny lol.

Then they all tried comin down the hill on foot, and that was easy pickings for us. I did mucho reviving on that map...my score attests to that lol. Amazing job gunrack for keepin the squad together and keeping us informed. Good job bane on all those AT kills and lucky keepin our ammo topped off. Our squad def deserved top honors. Great job guys!

hehe My fault MEC got the heli, I wanted 1 more person to work with me so I could drop C4 onto assets so ended up just flying the BH around cos we didn't want to use it but MEC seemed to have no problems with trying to grab it. (shocking behavior).

I put c4 all over it and landed on the Hotel roof but when I jumped out the BH rolled on top of me and I had no way to get back up there so MEC were free to pick it up.

Got to love friendly fire when you run up behind the enemy with your knife drawn, still got him though...

I was going to mention the individual efforts of all my squad members in the AAR, but the AAR started to get too long, and most people tend to not like long. So, I'll mention them now.

Snail, you were a machine, literally, in both repelling the enemy and reviving. You just kept us going. A lot of critical revives in there when it counted the most. Bane2, you were clutch taking the initiative and wiping out a bunch of guys on the west ridge. I didn't realize you were that good with the AT until last night. Lucky Shot, you were great as the point man north, being my eyes and ears there, and in repelling anything that came that way. Shoot, I think you even killed one or two snipers with your support weapon. Heyob & Meegan, you both were great in helping to repel the enemy and falling back immediately on the flag when asked. Great game all around, guys. It was fun.

Yea I got a couple, my favorite was catching HellRazer as he was parachuting down. Snipers are one shot one kill, Support at distance, it's one clip, one kill. End result is the same. That was a good squad!

Good games!

Re: Mashtuur, Tues., 12/13, ~7:30 PST

The round was a textbook case of awesome defense. That was the first time I ever got stationed at the Power Plant on Mashtuur for the whole round. I really didnt expect that much action, but we got it by the bucketful. They came on foot, by vehicle, and by Blackhawk, but they couldnt dislodge us.

Great job by our SL, Gunrack. Always a pleasure when he runs a squad. Lucky was our ammo man mowing down troops with his machine gun. Snail kept us on our feet as medic. Heyob and Meegan rounded out our squad, but I dont rememer them talking much.

Most memorable moment was going up to the road above the Power Plant on foot by myself and cleaning out all the enemy troops. They kept coming down from the North Gas Station. I would wait for them to come and pick them off one by one with my AT missle. The funniest part was that they never figured I was up there by myself as I killed them off. I took out B, Robocop, and one other guy all right next to each other. Needless to say, I amused myself greatly. Also special thanks to the enemy commander that left a supply crate up there so I could stay fully loaded.

It was an intense and fun game. 1stMIP (USMC side, SL: Drunk) was defending the Hill...

The memorable moment of the game for me was when Drunk (SL) ordered fire team alpha led by Leadinyourhead (A1) to patrol the hills. Ransack (A2) was our AT guy and I (A3) was the medic. Lead knew that enemy could try another vodnik attack and prepared alpha team for a good ambush. Here is the result
