If I install SF is it an upgrade?

lol, buy it, return it, buy it again... too bad rental stores don't rent PC games anymore.

btw, I was just being a jerk. Yes you can play vanilla awesome, as SF is considered a MOD to the original.

What Bhack said. When you join a server it activates the appropriate mod before joining.

Just make sure to apply the latest 1.12 patch AFTER installing SF.
