Interested in Joining the Irregulars?

Now we have a place to become more organised this thread will serve as the point of contact for those of you interested in becoming a part of The Irregulars. The group is still in consultation as to the final size of our platoon and we do have concerns about overexpanding too quickly. Presently we have about thirty people who got in "on the ground floor" before the numbers were capped at thirty. There are also many more who have expresssed an interest after this. It may be the case that more slots become available either through conscious expansion or people dropping out or not following up their initial enthusiasm.

If you do have an interest in joining the ranks of this new and exciting section of the TG community leave your details below. Useful information would include your BF2 experience, preferred kits, any roles you may be able to fill such as Squad leader or CO and any other considerations you think may be valid such as time zones.

Those of you who have already registered a desire to join can visit the Tactical Wiki for the updated roster courtesy of perry. Your details should already be in there. If you have gaps in your "profile" or find the information erroneous feel free to edit it for accuracy or PM me and i will add it in. If you think you should be listed and are not, PM me with your details.

The old information at the top of the recruitment thread is not exactly up to date and needs to be replaced with something to reflect the change in our recruitment policy. I have a new draft below with some good stuff that was posted by Whiskey included. Could you update my old preliminary post in this thread with this new version (and any suggestions or edits you or anyone lese may have) when you get time Fuller? I seem to have lost my ability to edit posts more than a day or so old...i havent quoted it so you should be able to grab it code and all.

The |TG| community in general is very welcoming, rewarding, and appreciative of it's population. If you've played on our servers, you know how rewarding the experience is, and how you feel part of the team in every game. Joining the Irregulars is completely unecessary to get high-quality, team-based gaming. The Irregulars, while informal and loosely organized, is a team, and the |TG-Irr| patch does carry some expectations with it.
Those looking to join the irregulars should have experienced the highly rewarding play on TG servers and are ready to commit to something more.(WS)

I don't mean to say it isn't for new folks, because that's not the case at all. Membership doesn't require elite game-skills either. It just requires a commitment! The commitment is a lower priority than all the other responsibilities life piles on us, but it's still a commitment.(WS)

Honestly I never heard about what you guys were doin till a few days ago. Once i started reading up on what you stand for and such, it absolutely sounds like the place for me! I work a lot but usually have time to play at nights anytime.

I understand if the platoon is filled or whatev, but if you ever need a replacement or if you expand, i would be completely honored to be considered for the irregulars.

BF2 exp - approx 6 months
Kit Specialties - Medic, Support, AT

I dont mind SL but i believe i do better up at the front lines healing, resupplying, or takin out a tank or two ;-)

As a medic i always look to see if theres another medic in the squad...if there isnt i stay very close to the SL and usually put my life on the line to revive.

As support, i lay down cover when needed and always make sure my squad is topped off on ammo.

Thanks for your post Snail, ill make a note of your details and add them on to the unassigned part of the tactical wiki roster. Hopefully we can let all of those who have expressed interest know asap once we have found a way to juggle organisation and size. Apologies if you have to bear with us for a while until we see what can be handled succesfully and what will be the tipping point into chaos.

I might be interested aswell but also I'm quit busy with work and school and so. Also I'm quit busy with the Community I'm in, dMw. I'd be willing to help out if needed.

I've been playing BF2 since October. My most favourite rolls in BF2 are SpecOps & Engineer. Also one of my favourite things to do is commandering/squadleading.

Yeah, i was abit late in signing up but would really like to be in the "irregs".

BF2 Exp- Had it since the day it came out.

Prefered kits- Medic, Spec ops, Assault.

Role- Overall player basically:

- I am an average to good pilot, i dont compete with those like DV but can keep the enemy occupied for a decent length of time.

- If i am with a good gunner who keeps good communication up with me i find myself a great Attack Helo pilot, i can react quickly to threats in the air and line my gunner up for those on the ground. Good judgement of the situation.

- Average Gunner in the helo, not really my thing.

- Again with the blackhawk as long as i have good communication with the passengers i can do very well, although i more go for the Cobras'. I think the black hawks key is to not be a flying attack helicopter, but a squad transport helo which can transport whole squads or just SL's to positions for squad spawn.

SL request to commander--->Commander acts on request--->Requests to squad: Black hawk--->Black Hawk SL accepts.

Ground combat- Pretty average i think.

Armor- Average

DuVel - Im going to hold off on adding you for the moment if you dont mind. One of the features of the irregs is that it caters for those people who lead busy lives, although as we progress it will need some sort of minimum commitment to engage in the occasional scrim/practice/training etc. It sounds to me (and correct me if im wrong by all means) that yours is quite a tentative approach. Maybe it would be beneficial to wait until we are more established and see whether it is the kind of thing you would still like to be an active part of? I could be completely off the mark here and i dont want to sound like im being elitist or anything so if im wrong just tell me and ill add you onto the ever growing interested section.

No problem at all dude. My life is quit hectic at the moment and I was just asking. I am and always will be interested in |TG| as our community -=[dMw]=- also playes by most of the |TG|standards. Also several members of |TG| know alot about -=[dMw]=- and this also counts the other way around.
The |TG|Irr sounded like something for me and I think I could also contribute to |TG|Irr so that's why I've replyed. My online CS : CZ name is allready: -=[dMw]=-DuVeL|TG| as I play by -=[dMw]=- and |TG| standards.
For me it was just: Wie niet waagt, wie niet wint: Translation: He who doesn't dare, doesn't win. Maybe you got your call just there?

Hi jimmytwohand, i recently read the thread about the irregulars and sounds like a good place to be in, i really can't commit to be a SM right now for personal reasons, but since i discovered the TG community, all my bf2 play hours have taken place in their server. I hope its not too late though, so here are my details

I enjoy the teamwork, i enjoy working together with other people with a common goal.

Speciality:

I've been playing bf2 since its demo release.

Good Attack Helicopter Pilot (Playing almost exclusively with the chopper since BF: Desert Combat) who comunicates a lot with his gunner using voip. I like to stay out of enemy fire range and line my gunner for TV Snipe attacks.

When im not in the A-helo, i like to use the medic kit, or if needed the support kit.

HI Jimmy,

Any chance of a total newbie joining up with you guys?? I've had BF2 for quite a while now...but with my job and real life I'm just now starting to really play it online..

I found TG and I'm really enjoying it!! I'm able to use VoIP and I really enjoy playing AT and Assault...also just started trying out the medic last night..that was fun as well.

I'll be very honest though...I'm not very good!!! LOL Still learning the ropes but am willing to learn!! hehe
