December 26, lots of maps

Played Commander consecutively, Thanks for all the squads who made it so easy, and such a pleasure. Don't remember many names, cause by the time the server filled up it was pretty late here, but TheRooster1 did a hell of a job, as did the TG squad. We played Mashtuur, and agreed to fight for the Road Cunstruction only, because of the low player count, but then they capped the flag I was commanding from, so all rules were off. When we got agressive, it was really a sight to behold.
Kubra Dam was annoying, but when we had the outer flags and came in from both sids, that turned into a one sided blood bath too.

Great job, everyone. It was a blast.

And as a final note, some pointers for working well with your CO.Note: These work for all players, not just SL's. I hear and see everyone. Muhahaha!

1. Never stop SPOTTING. Sometimes the UAV is deployed on the other side of the map, but if you yell out enough, and you squaddies spot enough of them, CO can send in reinforcements.

2. ASK for UAV, ARTY, SCANS, either via Voip, or Commo rose. I can place them at my own discretion, but needless to say it works a whole lot better when placed at yours. You're down there in the muck. Let me help you.

3. If you're leading a full squad, try and DIVIDE into 2 fire teams, and ask the CO if he needs assitance anywhere else. More often than not, he will. You don't really have to make a new squad, just send 3 squaddies to a flag needing help.

4. If CO toys are at a capturable base, try and have at least one squad defending there. If the CO doesnt assign one, volunteer. Those toys are too valuable.

5. Communicate. Talk to me, tell me what's going on. Where you see them. If one of your guys spots an FAV with one guy in it whizzing across the map, I want to know about it. I ask for SitRep's more often than not, but usually right when that squad is under attack, so all I get is screaming.

Thanks for going easy on me while I learn this mode. It's great. Have I said it's like a next gen-RTS, where every unit has a personality of his own?

PS.

If you want to be commander, but someone's beaten you to it, there's no need to mutiny. If he's been commanding for 6 consecutive rounds, you can ask, and I...eh.. he, will gladly step down.

Great job commanding last night. Lots of good games although the population was kind of thin last night.

Hey Shakey, I remember spotting an AT guy hiding in a bush behind your tank. Took you a while to find him but good job when you did.

Did you nominate him for a camouflage award? Ive just got a vision of some poor naturalist indulging his hobby online when a main gun round obliterates the chaffinch he was watching....

I'm not surprised I didn't see him. I was fairly well pickled by the end of the night.

Re: December 26, lots of maps

Shafik - great job as commander. I think the thin population last night made the wars fun. We had smaller maps and just two or three squads going. It made for great co-ordination and some real bloody fights. I think we rattled off 5 wins in a row as OpFor and China. Great fun.

Great job to hambergler, bigguns, bonehead, dirt, and the others in Alpha Squad. It was a great run.
