Angry PunkBuster "No Packet Flow" Error

Man this POS software keeps kicking me like a mule!

The message I get is either:

"No Packet flow"

0r

"Failure to recieve md5 checks or something blah blah"

I uninstalled it, ran PBsetup and all that. Still lame.

Anyone else have prob with this?

Re: I Hate Punkbuster!!!

Yup my friend had a problem with this today when he installed bf2. But then we realised he hadnt installed PB for some reason when he installed BF2. He then tried to modify the installation from the add/remove programs list and he got the MD5 error. So he ended up uninstalling BF2, reinstalling it but choosing "custom" and making sure PB was checked to install.

Hope this helps.

Getting kicked by PB for 'no packet flow'

I hate punkbuster. After about a minute of playing on the server, I get kicked by punkbuster with the message of ...'no packet flow'. Are you kidding me? And it wasn't just on tactical gamer's server either. I tried on 2 other random servers. (sorry...). And if the solution to this problem is manually updating pb with the pbsetup program, well that's what I already did. That's what created this problem in the first place. I have never seen that error before. I even tried it again to no avail. I'm hoping it's just some random bug in their system. God forbid I can't play BF2 on tactical gamer, I'm going to be really pissed, if not already. Does anyone have any clue why I'm getting this error?

EDIT: maybe this has something to do with punkbuster releasing a new version last night and TG's servers not updating yet? for some reason it won't let me post the link. It's on evenbalance's BF2 page.

Re: Getting kicked by PB for 'no packet flow'

Last night was just a client update for PB. Does the server have to update anything? I got kicked last night too, but it worked after I updated with pbsetup.

Re: Getting kicked by PB for 'no packet flow'

BF2 updates punkbuster in-game. If the pb server is busy or there is a bottleneck in your own connection you'll get such an error. I posted a fix in a different thread. Keep your pbweb up to date and you should be fine.
