Re: TG Scrim League

Thanks Jimmy.

Who is actually "in charge" of this bunch of reprobates known as the "Irregulars"?

Re: TG Scrim League

Errrr...well....good question... lol. I suppose the answer is everyone at the moment. Sgtdfuller had the commitment to step up and take the lead in this and has done a lot to coordinate everything with the moderators, i volunteered to help him out in a few matters and have been bumbling my drunken way through a couple of things. As we have seen already though, this is rapidly becoming a community project with input from all those who wish to on matters such as motto/crest/name etc. We have also seen those like Whiskey Six who stepped up and designed a patch for us and Shafik who set up the Tactical Wiki page. It is also receiving advice from the admins and those like ABRA who have valuable specialist knowledge and Wulfyn who came up with the original concept (to name but a few).

We are rapidly approaching the stage where other roles will need to be filled and we will see how this takes place to form a more polished structure. By our nature though it will always be more layered and rely on more redundancy and back ups than the in house squads. It is the only way a group like us can make sure all the work gets done and we are always progressing.

As you can see there is no real way to point a finger at someone and say they are the leader but i hope this answers your question.

On a completely unrelated matter, if anyone can think of anything that needs doing and will be a complete pain to implement then sgtdfuller is in complete, overall and sole charge.

And that reminds me, can you lop off this question and slap it into a new thread sgtdfuller? Its a valid question that im sure others will be wondering about as well and it would be good to get your view on this too. It also keeps this thread clean and tidy to deal with sign ups for the scrim league.

If anyone else has something to add to this or would like to debate it more, lets wait until it has its own thread to avoid reverting to the mayhem that was our previous threads.

Who's Running the show?

As you all know, this is a community effort to get us going, the idea behind this is to have a place for everyone to hang their hat. The idea is for mass appeal to show our strength in the TG community and to be able to operate as a team either as a unit or compliment other squads if need be. As far as who is in charge......no one particular person really. However, there are a couple of us who are "in touch" with the Admins to get this going. We do not want to overload the Admins with PM's from everyone, so we all have our little part with an individaul Admin to keep the flow going, otherwise the Admins would have an overload of PM's and would eventually bog down the process. I am currently discussing the "leadership" ladder with the Admins to get their opinion on how to operate this. I think we will have multiple leaders in this project to deal with the overabundance of individuals that sign up, for training, for scrims, and to deal with the time zone differences. So if anyone has any suggestions as far as leadership roles, then please reply.

Re: Who's Running the show?

Well here is my opinion. sgtDFuller and Jimmytwohands have pretty much got this thing moving and have done a great job organizing the unit. I think you both should be "in charge". We as a group need to have someone keep us focused in going in the right direction. We can have sgtDFuller handle the USA side of things and Jimmytwohands can work with the Euro side. You two guys deserve the rank of TG IRR officers. Of course this is if you guys want the responsibility of running the IRR's. That's my two cents, thanks for all the work you guys have done. Let me know if I can do anything to help.

Re: Who's Running the show?

Thanks Drizzid, I am sure I speak for the both of us on all the support we have from everyone, but I think Kudos should go to everyone as well for helping to make this a sure deal. I would be honored to "take charge", however it will require the help of everyone, a coordinated effort on everyones part. I am sure JimmyTwoHand feels the same. Of course we will need others to "fill in" at times to keep the ball rolling, as you know, most of us have limited time to take care of issues, so we will try to sort out categories for other individuals to be "in charge" of, so any suggestions on "positions" and potentials, then please post. Once again, I take my hat off to ALL of you for the dedication and faith.

Ditto on the kudos to SgtDFuller and Jimmytwohands. They have shown they are both well organised and very receptive to new ideas.

I agree that it has been a group effort and it will continue to be that way. I think many in the squad will continue to step up and offer any help they can, as will I, but I still beleive that any squad still needs leaders and I think you and Jimmytwohands deserve the highest ranks in the squad. Every squad has levels of command and I think we as a squad should implement some levels of authority. So we should start at the top and work our way down. So Jimmytwohands and sgtDFuller get my vote for squad officers. I.M.O

Re: Who's Running the show?

Im more than happy to keep plugging away at things if that is the communities desire. Im sure there will be many specialist roles that we will find need to be filled in the near future for all those who have so far offered their support and who havent been utilized.

PS: just remember that on the battlefield i will still be the bumbling private looking down his own gun barrel and getting knocked off on a regular basis.

Re: Who's Running the show?

Everyone knows the great Oz runs things around here! Pay no attention to the man (men?) behind the curtain!

Really, I think the two knuckleheads who got us going are doing a great job, so more power to em. I like the feel of one ro two guys doing the work that needs to be done, but the group's still not all that rigid or hierarchal in nature. I guess that's why we're the IRR.

Re: Who's Running the show?

I second Drizzid's vote for putting Jimmy and Fuller in charge.

I think the Irregulars still needs to have lots of input from the community, but without some sort of definite leadership we won't be able to get anything done in a timely manner. If we spend all of our time trying to organize and none playing than we really don't accomplish our goal, to play BF2 as a group. With two (or more) leaders like Jimmy and Fuller we should be able to get everything up and running pretty quickly, and if we don't like something than we can change it later.

Re: Who's Running the show?

I agree with millepede, and also with Jimmy, granted, we did volunteer to get this going, but on the battlefiels, we ARE rookies, so when we get to the battlefield, do not see us as leaders, but rather as a part of the team willing to learn from others. As far as the Admin part, we will give our all, and as far as the battlefield, we will give our ALL also, but we may not be as experienced as everyone else. You all know that most leaders dont have the experience that the others do. You are the BACKBONE behind the Irregulars. We take direction from you guys and apply it to the whole scheme of this outfit. It may not be in whole, but it dopes play a part in the decision making, so if you think your voice is not heard, you are mistaken, becuase we read all post and PM's and take all of them into consideration. So keep up the good work, and if you see us on the battlefield, just put us where we belong and I will gladly take orders from anyone........after all we are a TEAM!!!

Jimmytwohands and sgtDFuller and all the other squadies that have contributed to the TG-Irr have done great work in getting us to this point and I believe those same people will take us to where we want to go. But, my point earlier was exactly what is being discussed. JTH and sgtDFuller should, if they want too, continue to look over all of the squad, organizing and admin'ing ect and the rest, will do what we can, when we can. It's still a team effort but, with direction. That's why we should make JTH and sgtDFuller officers and if they don't want to SL because of lack of experience then another team player will take that roll. (I hope this makes sense cause I'm tired)
