TG Prefix

Following our poll and community feedback in the TS chat tonight the prefix issue has been put to bed.

The official Tag for the Irregulars will be:

|TG-Irr|

If you are a member of The Irregulars and wish to show your affiliation to us on-server this is the tag to use. Please do not adopt any fruity permutations or wierd capitalisations. It has taken long and extensive debate to finalise this.
Instructions for creating a new account and FAQs will be distributed liberally about the forum for guidance at the earliest opportunity.

If you are a member of the irregs and do not wish to start a new account for general gameplay then it is not required that you wear a tag at all times when playing. It would be useful to create a new account though, to wear in scrims and "formal dress" occasions. At all times bear in mind the TG SOPs on wearing the tag.

Quote:
Anyone who endorses and practices our playstyle and rulesets may wear the TG tag when playing on our or other servers. Bottom line: if you support TG for what it is and want to show that support, the TG tag is a good way to do it. Many players who love it here choose not to sport the tag in their playername, and that's fine, too, if that's what you prefer. The option is there for you to take or leave.

We love it when people support this community with Supporting Memberships, but it's not required to wear the TG tag.

I just want to re-iterate that by wearing the TG tag you are representing TG and our style of play. Wearing the TG tag means you have read and understand our rules, SOPs & announcements.

Re: TG Prefix

Just thought I'd x-ref another thread here on TG about what it means to wear the |TG| tag: http://www.tacticalgamer.com/battlef...highlight=tags

Re: TG Prefix

A thing to remember if you are an SM:

When you make a new account to adopt the TG tag you will have a new player ID. Remember to locate your new ID and update your profile on TG.com, otherwise you will not have a reserved slot.

Re: TG Prefix

Sorry to show my ignorance - but post-prefix spacing.

Is the rule that nicknames are hard up against the tag:

|TG-Irr|Ranger

...OR...

Is it permitted to include spacers (for clarity):

|TG-Irr|-Ranger

(I feel bad asking this - I've only been here two minutes and have asked a load of questions already. I'm afraid I'm like that.)

Re: TG Prefix

During the TeamSpeak meeting today we decided that there would be no spaces or spacers between the tag and your name, for example: |TG-Irr|Delta_Swift. Don't feel bad about asking questions either. As long as you do a search beforehand that comes up empty, then ask as many questions as you want. That's why we're here

I must have missed that when reading the minutes. Thanks.

Actually - just checked the minutes again and it IS there bold as brass: "|TG-Irr|name"

...My only excuse is that it's first thing in the morning!

Re: TG Prefix

It was less a decision and more a requirement, as the game does not allow spaces within usernames.

Re: TG Prefix

Bit of a bummer but someone had already nabbed '|TG-Irr|Ranger' as a login name!

Luckily I had 'Big-Ranger' as a back-up and WhiskeySix was kind enough to do this as an alternative avatar as well (again, thanks WhiskeySix).

I wish EA had really put a bit more thought into profile names and that people might want to change them as they went along!

...Oh PS: The BIG bit btw, comes from a group some friends and I had for playing tactical shooters at the university where I work. Not really a clan - was never that organized...Just helps us identify each other online, as opposed to the many other 'rangers' that are out there! (Er, that was probably too much information!)

Re: TG Prefix

Yeh that seems a little strange to me too. Are there dopplegangers out there? Sure you just didnt use the same email as your last ID? Ever consider starting an account called Irr|Ranger and then adding the prefix |TG- ?

Re: TG Prefix

Ah, think you could be right on both counts.

Re: TG Prefix

Dunno why I couldn't get it - but it was taken.

No matter - no big deal - If we ever meet you will see why the 'big' tag is rather apt anyway!

(...Er, if you know what I mean. Easy tiger!)
