5 Jan Late: Sharqi & Mashtuur

Real big props to the Irregulars squad tonight on Sharqi and Mashtuur. I joined Sharqi in progress and there were 3 full squads, so figured it was time to lead. Delta_Swift quickly joined and then Kornkobcom came in and we were in Irregular business.

We held the City Entrance against all comers ... T90s, infy, T90s & infy, APCs T90s & infy, arty, catapaulted cows, etc. We lost the round but never had to abandon the post. I thought it was about as good as it could get.

But Mashtuur was even better. With 3 US squads chasing across the gulch I held the Irregulars back to defend the general space between the Backyard and Mosque. It took a while for some action to come our way, but when it did we dug in. Our little squad of 3-4 held the entire western side of the map with action at the Backyard, Mosque, Hill and Gas Station throughout the round. US dominated in the end, and we never had anything go worse than grey. At the end of the round, our squad had a combined 64 kills and only 13 deaths -- a KDR of almost 5.

Huge props to Delta_Swift, Kornkobcom, Freeno, Axis_of_Eeevil, Idlehands, Thantos, and anyone else that came through the squad tonight.

Re: 5 Jan Late: Sharqi & Mashtuur

I only played Sharqi so no Mashtuur charts...

I'll just add that if jingo_02 is reading it was nice playing with ya. You worked with me and were solid on communication. See ya on the server in the future.

p.s. The TV station defense at the start of the round consisted of two snipers and the commander. Not good! Beatnik's squad just rolled right on in and I guess held it the rest of the round.

Re: 5 Jan Late: Sharqi & Mashtuur

I had a lot of fun last night. At first it was just me and boot running around Sharqi in a 2 man squad. I actually enjoyed being mobile and stealthy (being that there was only 2 of us) in a small squad. We eventually got a whole crew together (3 were Irr) and started making a dent in the opposition. The map ended with a loss, but I enjoyed myself.

Mashtuur was just pure domination. I don't mean to flaunt, but that's what it was. We held the entire western half of the map with relative ease. Thanks to some great communication from our SL boot, superior firepower (tanks), and cooperative squad members we had little trouble holding our ground. It was a good time.

I wonder if I can nominate you for an Anti-Tank ribbon ... must have been 3 times tanks or APCs were shooting at you as a medic on Sharqi, while I ran up from the other side with C4. Is there a Decoy ribbon?

I'd love to know who I kept blowing up in the MEC armor. I rarely play SpecOps but tonight I kept track -- 7 Tank/APCs and 1 vodnik fell to my little stickybombs and I never suicided. It had to be frustrating for the drivers!

Hah! Thanks boot, but they don't have a "Medic with a Death Wish" ribbon.

Well it wasn't all sweetness for Beatnik's squad. First we sailed up to the ramps south of the hotel and got creamed by a combination of mantis grenades and our own stupidity. Then after we did manage to take the hotel, we made our move for the tv station and Beatnik drove right into a tank (glad I didn't take that route). Then we got smart and came in from a different angle to get the tv station. The tank is kinda helpless once the flag goes.

Ya I saw you guys landing your boat and just immediately told my squadmate to pelter the landing area with grenades. Then after after annoying you a bit more on your second hotel push I died and spawned on the tv station roof. No one was there and our tank was empty so once my squadmate jingo respawned I had him get in the tank and I directed him from up top. You guys rolled in with one vodnik from the south hill and one from the north. Didn't take long for you guys to take it.:/

I curse Mantis everytime time he's not on my team. It's just a standard SOP.

Standard Standard Operating Procedure? Isn't that like a double standard?!

This is never to be spoken of again. I completely deny that I ever said the comment above. My forum account has been hacked. Thank you and have a good day.
