Karkand, Zatar 1/7-1/8

Just wanted to say thanks to my squad for some good games tonight. If leading a squad was always that enjoyable, everybody would want to do it.

Props to whoever was AT on USMC on Zatar (felt like the entire team), I have never died so many times in a chopper, or probably in a round, ever. I swear USMC had heat-seeking AT rockets or something, I could be anywhere, high and moving fast in zig-zags and I'd get hit by a million AT/APC missiles.

I'll take some of those. I was leading squad 3 and held the Factory the whole round. We might have peaked at 3 ATs at one point, but we had nothing else to shoot you with since the Stingers are pretty useless on that map. Others must have had the same idea, because I know I only hit you maybe 4 times.

The squad did well, but I didn't think I was having a great round. I think we all wanted some more action but everytime we struck out we ran into attack waves and were pushed back to defense.

I actually came in as support once or twice to prove that I could take your chopper down with that puny gun, but every time I did a wave of armor swept in. Oh well... next time.

Re: Karkand, Zatar 1/7-1/8

From the commander seat i can say it looked awfully familiar to how we played in the MA scrim. We were SO slow. It took 2 squads a full 20 minutes to attack the abandoned airfield. I think if we were faster to objectives and used buggys/transport chopper, wed have won.

At one point i asked one of the squads to take the transport chopper and they said they didnt have a pilot. I asked all squads that if they had a pilot if he could temporarily use his skills to bring that squad to the airfield. Amazingly enough, we apparently didnt have ONE transport chopper pilot.

Re: Karkand, Zatar 1/7-1/8

Someone asked if anyone in our squad knew how to fly a chopper. I assumed he meant an attaack helo so I declined. Transport I can do and if I would have known the difference I would have accepted. I am sorry.

Yeah that was me, I was SL'ing squad 5 and it was a very frustrating time for me as a SL. I had a good squad that did the best they could do. Santa you gave me all the support I could as for and more and I failed at all the objectives you gave me to handle and I apologize. We lost that round due to my inability to execute the objetives you gave me. I let my squad and team down. I still have a long way to go before I am a more compitent SL.

In Zatar the MEC side did a good job in sealing off the village. I was in the WeSuck squad and we could not get out. Tried to attack the central island and capped it for a couple of seconds too, but after that it was defending the bridge north of Village.

That was a frustrating round. Like Santa said, it just took so long to get anything done. As you can see by my abysmal K/D ratio, it just wasn't a good round for me.

We felt this on the USMC side too. It seemed like there was an amazing lack of transport vehicles about. There must have been some random squad taking all the buggies out to a chopshop. Twice we tried to make an Eastern flanking move from the Factory on foot. You're welcome for the easy targets, Kilrogg.

Whoa, no, we just had a bad round all the way around. Just look at everyones K/D ratios, you cant win a map when hardly anyone has a KD ratio of more than 1. I wasnt on the ground, so i dunno what was causing that, but it musta been a rough round to say the least.

The chopper thing was just because you said you didnt have any pilots. If i had forced someone in your squad to fly Big Bertha i think we would have seen 6 "is no mores" come up on the screen. Thats why i asked if anyone knew how to fly Big Bertha so that we could get the airfield. Cars werent working because they essentially had a wall at both the village and factory, so the only way to get across is from above.

You did an exceptional job at the factory when you were completely outnumbered. You were up against probably half their team, so i just told you to attract their attention and you did a great job at that. The idea was to have you take a lot of attention, while another squad got to the airfield. Didnt work out, but ya did your job.

I know your reasoning behind the trans chopper and it was the right thing to do. I was very frustrated with the fact with all the support you gave me as a CO. The timely arty's, uav's and telling what I was up against I should have had some success. We were sent to the airfield to take it over and we failed in that task. The other squad you sent took it over so we spawned there and then you sent us to the village where I failed again and the other squad took that flag also. Then you instructed us to defend the village and with a mere 2mins of defending we lost that also. In my book that is failure. We lost that round by a very small margin and my squad probably had the highest k-d ratio of the the team. I was happy with our results of the factory but just diappointed in the rest of the tasks that we faced. I appreciate you words of encouragement and will continue to try and be a better SL.

Here's what being a wall at the factory felt like.

Lol one of the funniest moments of last night was Santa on CO chat:

Santa - "Transport chopper is available at our base"
<few seconds of silence>
Santa - "You want me to spot our empty transport chopper?"
Santa - "..."
