Scrim League Match 13/1/06

As you should all know by now our first Scrim League match is approaching and will be:

Friday the 13th
Kickoff will be at 8PM EST ( TS attendance required at 7.25PM EST)
The map will be Sharqi
This match will use the Tactical Mod.

This means if you are going to be participating you will need to have tactical mod 0.5 installed although keep your eyes peeled in case 0.6 is released pre-scrim. Installation instructions can be found here. It will not make your existing version unplayable, you will not need a second install. It will take about 3 minutes to do, no excuses!

You will also all need to be familiar with how the game works. We want to make this as smooth as possible and try to reduce the headaches as much as possible for ABRA.

I am the team captain for the Scrim League but unfortunately "Non Ego, Adeo Laboro". This means we will need a senior team member to take over the team captain duties for this match. Volunteers please post. Lets also try to work out how many people we have signed up for the league who can definitely attend so we can start to feedback our approximate slot needs. This is our first outing so lets put on a good show. I want you all over the top and slowly walking towards the machine guns like the jolly good eggs you are!

The full game schedule is posted here.

I shall be present to enjoy our first scrim. Locked and loaded, and ready to be a mobile artillery target!!!

Ill take that as a: "yes, id love to be team captain!"
Not much to it mate, should only take half hour or so of setup then its back to playing like normal.

Re: Scrim League Match 13/1/06

Sounds cool. I think I signed up through a PM to Abra but I'm not positive since I never got a response. My guess is that he is just busy since the leauge is starting now.

I will try my best to attend, and hopefully be on time, despite the time difference. Hopefully I will be able to get in even though I'm a non-SM, but if not I'll just have to do something else.

By the way, we were talking about having an Irregular only game. Have there been any plans made for that?

Yep you are in for the regular, helo and jet divisions. You are counted as an "affiliated non-SM" so you will have priority over those non-SMs who are not in BB or the irregs but not over unaffiliated SMs. Sounds complicated i know but its not too bad. Basically there is quite a fair system and if you dont get in for this one then you will be higher on the list for assignment next time. You also stand a better chance because you are in the air divisions as well. If you make it in by 7.25 for the TS brief you will get a yay or nay then as people are "drawn".

Irregular only game has not progressed much to my knowledge unless someone can advise differently. There are some server time issues related to that. There is also the upcoming inhouse/outhouse match on the 28th/29th.

I'm glad to see that I did get signed up. I already knew about the order that they use to select players, that's why I was a little sceptical about whether or not I could get in. I hope that if I'm in the air there aren't too many of the really good TG pilots on. I'm a decent pilot (I can get the jet off the ground and shoot/bomb things just fine and only crash when I look behind me too much) but I have a hard time staying alive against some of the good TG pilots. (The other day I had to fight Bhack and another good pilot in my F35B while they got J10s and I had no wingmen. That was HARD) Hopefully I'll be on the ground with my trusty AK101 and shock paddles.

Perhaps we could set up a pubby raid? Most of us have XFire and Teamspeak so it should be fairly easy to cordinate. We would only need enough people to fill a squad anyway.

Re: Scrim League Match 13/1/06

Mero, reporting in for duty. I'm available to play all Friday night so sign me up please.

Just in case FYI, no CO, SL, or piloting for me.. just the ground pounding.

Re: Scrim League Match 13/1/06

Just a quick note -

I am desperately struggling to get my TS functioning - so please don't think that my reluctance to rush forward to volunteer is due to being half-heated.

I really want to 'do my duty'!

(Still some conflict problems with TS running).

Re: Scrim League Match 13/1/06

Unfortunately, work ends @ 7-8pm PST on Friday, so I'll miss.

Any scrim on the weekends is a sure thing though.
