Who else in the Irregular is a good Jet Pilot?

just wondering if anyone else can fly reasonbally well (100+ in most TG games) in the irregular. And share some of your thoughts on the in house squad pilots tendencies and habits

I will start with some of the decent pilots on TG in house squads (those whose names are on here tell me if I am wrong)

Dark Viper: very unpredictable but often you will see him pull up while strafing if you are on his tail, and he will scisor you meaning he will go left and right. When he is behind you, you need to be unpredictable and do not pull the same moves all the time because good pilots will shoot you down easily when they know your tendency.

Perry: Loves to do invert loops when you are behind him, meaning you need to be good with the cannons, as he pulls up and points his nose down, start leading him with your cannon and you will drop 1/3 of his health when he finishes the loop.

Phonenixfire: loves to do barrel roll and scissor so when he is doing his barrelroll, fire your missiles and you should hit him at least once.

Steel_Penguin, Arf, Munchkin, Strikefear, I have not study them well enough to post their tendencies, others please share your thought.

I'm a decent pilot (but still crap conpared to most TG pilots). I can get 100+ if I'm bombing, but not if I spend all my time dogfighting. When I fly I either slaughter the opposing pilot or I get blown out of the sky constantly. There is very little room for me to tell the difference between pilots except for the ones that are terrible and the ones that are insanely skilled.

I'm fine in the pilots chair. It's all the freaks that pilot here at TG that are the problem! </sarcasm> I'd rather stick with my attack helo though, it's easier to people over with.

Arf, Bhack, Santa, and |TG-4th|Acid. I've killed Arf once, but I think he was already damaged. Usually I can follow him around pretty easy (I don't think he looks behind often), but once I start firing he always manages to escape (sometimes even getting behind me somehow) I can beat Acid fairly easily. He always trys to get me when I take off, but once I'm airborne he rarley gets me. If he does then it's always with some incredibely lucky missle shot. I've yet to kill Santa or Bhack. Strangely, they're always in J-10's and I'm in F35-B's, so that might acount for some of my 'suckage'. I've been lucky enough to not have to fight against Dark Viper yet. I wouldn't even get airborne.

Sure. You just have to know where the other pilot is coming from. If you see them smoking, you know exactly where they will be heading. If they just dropped a payload of bombs, they will probably reload. And the only time I played against you on wetlands, I believe, and did pretty good.

I'd probably learn to pilot something other than the helicopter (I'm wicked in flight sims) if I played more often. As it stands, if I ever have the chance to get into the air I'd rather get some attack helo action going than annoy my team learning how to not hit things in a jet.

Ya, I've only flown against you on Zatar. Most of your kills against me were while I was taking off. I was talking more about dogfighting. I think you shot me down 2 or 3 times while I was actually airborne, all with missles if I remember correctly. How the heck do you hit fighters in tight turns like that with the missles? I use guns exclusivley against jets because I can't hit anything with missles unless they fly perfectly straight and don't use flares. On that game I think I gunned you down almost everytime I got behind you, but you had a much higher score because you spent more time bombing. (That might be why I shot you down, because you were busy lining up bombing runs)

That's generally the way the game goes for me when I fly jets. I spend all my time dogfighting instead of bombing (unless I'm actually in a bomber) so I don't kill all that much, but I do keep the enemy pilots from bombing my team too.

Same here. I'm far superior in attack helos than anything else. In most games now I will always win chopper duels if I have a pilot/gunner of about the same skill. Even if my pilot sucks (I prefer gunning, but I'm a good pilot too) I still often win because I'm really good with the TV missle on choppers.

I think FBmantis and Bodofuku were the resident snipers but now they left. I can snipe pretty well with the M24 though. If I'm not on the US team then I'll just snipe with an AK47/101. I'll get more kills that way. Semi-auto snipers SUCK.

Millipede, the secret in hitting missile in a tight turn is when they turn? You should notice when you get shot downby Dark Viper or Penguin with misisiles you are ussually baout to turn.

So do you fire right before they enter a turn or when they are about to pull out of the turn? I've heard this before but have been unable to actually do it. I usually just fly jets during the early afternoon games with a few people on, so I don't go up against many good pilots. I feel like I should leave the jets for the real pilots during serious games. Of course, if no one is using them then I'll hop in and try to keeping the enemy from bombing my team to hell.

Mos tof the time you fire before they go into the turn, beacause they will not help but fly straight for that 1 second. After all it comes from experience, you will begin to learn when to the other pilot might turn and fire that one or two missiles. I have not surpass Dark Viper yet, but when you want to you can PM me and I will show you on a private server. (I shot you down few times before and you should notice that you always get killed by me when you are pulling straight up or turning)

Let's just say i can fly a little, like a baby bird.......

Bombing is my strong point, but the skill at which i excell the most is being the gunner on the bomber jet.....

I just love that TV missile, last game i played with my roommate i got 15 kills in 1 run (1 reload I mean), 3 of them where locks but the rest was just manual guiding. I even got a jet and a helo that round (while they were in the air.. )

If that is a speciality, i'm all up for that spot.
