Day of Defeat: Source is free for this weekend!

Valve is running a promotion this weekend, February 10th, 11th and 12th that allows anyone to download and install Steam and Day of Defeat: Source for free!

This is an excellent opportunity for everyone to try out TacticalGamer's outstanding DoD server, whether you enjoyed DoD for the original Half-Life engine, or you're completely new to this WWII masterpiece.

All you have to do to get in on the action is download and install Steam (Valve's content delivery software), create an account, preload DoD:S before Friday, and then just wait to kick some Axis or Allied butt!

Tarpan, it's a weekend trial of DoD. I almost thought it was free forever if you got it this weekend but the Steam forums clarified this. As if the PR people don't know about the word "trial" to clear up any confusion.

I thought "Free weekend" was pretty self explanatory. Not "free forever" or anything.

And DoD:S is one of my favorite games of all time. For 10 bucks it was a bargain (I upgraded my bronze package from the ATi deal) and I play it more than some games I payed full price for.
