Battlefield 2 Server #1 Patched to 1.2
I just completed the upgrade of BF2 Server #1 to 1.2.
It would be wonderful if some of you guys could hop on and confirm the upgrade is operating properly! Please post any feedback on the server upgrade in this thread.

Now that the patch is up can we reset stuff like the Blackhawk guns etc to see what they're like with the changes EA made?
I'm hoping this balances out the BH w/o making the guns worthless like they are now on our server. Ideally tho I'd really love for the MEC Chopper guns to be useful too. When I first started playing this game in the demo some of my first 'WOW!' moments came from being in a squad in the BH and assaulting a flag while it provided covering fire. It was also why I became a chopper pilot ingame. I was soooo disappointed when I got the full game and discovered that the MEC chopper was useless in that regard. But as we all know, the BH guns were really way too powerful. Unfortunately our fix has made them all but worthless. Sometimes I wish we'd find ways of balancing items instead of taking the easy way out and nerfing them into oblivion. I sorta miss fearing a BlackHawk, when everyone would have to find cover fast and try to knock it out ala 'BlackHawk Down' and the subsequent elation when we finally did. Nowadays ppl see a blackhawk and u don't even try to avoid it. Its these varied tools and tactics that make the game fun especially on a TG server when tactics are so important. Let the inevitable flaming begin... |
