Protect the VIP
Maybe it's because we've got a shiny new toy, but the (obvious) tactics for CT's seem to be getting overlooked.
When the VIP has a large escort, they need to remain in the middle of the pack. You can't guarantee that the T's won't hit from behind. More than ever, it's critical that someone is constantly watching the teams six. Whoever's on point needs to be far enough ahead of the next man, that there's plenty of buffer zone between them and the team. When the point man engages targets, the rest of the team shouldn't be worrying about the safety of that team member. Use the time to move the VIP in any direction that's away from the fighting. When you get close to the EP, put the VIP somewhere safe, get in fast and secure the area. Then call the VIP in, who will run straight for the EP *without* stopping to shoot at any T's.

Re: Protect the VIP
basically, from what i've seen, is that once you are within a 100 metre distance from the EP, just whip in as many smokes as possible around the EP, and just cover outside the smoke, to give the VIP time, to run to victory
i have to see how well that strategy works next time things happen up on server 2 |

first, someone who has a scoped weapon, or a good long-ranged gun in general, scouts out the area where the EP is, and take out any nearby hostiles once it's clear, get a few smokes in there, then flash the EP point, then around the EP, as is corners, walls, etc. have the VIP in the middle, and have the protection like a square around the VIP, and escort the VIP to the EP |

Re: Protect the VIP
Meat shields ftw! Depending on your distance to the EP, it might be a good idea to have the VIP under cover, then have all the CTs whip out every nade they can get their hands on at and around the EP, then while the Ts tentatively wonder if its safe to come out, all of the CTs run in spraying covering fire while the VIP runs to the EP. This would probably work best with clock coordination.

Re: Protect the VIP
Well, if you want to go presidential with it, at minimum distance to ep, whip out every nade you can, then have the entire team run out in a group with the VIP in the middle surrounded by CT's. No shooting or stopping, the CT's literally there to do nothing but absorb bullets for the final dash. 'Course would work better if the VIP could crouch walk at running speed (like you always see these kind of extractions done in movies, VIP ducking and running in a group of standing SS men) because when they're all standing somebody at elevation has an angle for a HS. The key obviously would be the smokes/flashes. Running out into a group of T's waiting with guns aiming for you is suicide. But, in a situation where the CT's are outgunned/outnumbered, trying to secure the EP might not be a viable option, and this sort of random chaos approach might have a better effect.

Re: Protect the VIP
Would it make it more tactical if the speed of the VIP was reduced? I mean, a hostage shouldn't be able to run as fast as a trained CT, and then that would make the CT's have to think of the slower moving VIP and cover him.
