Public view of punishing/forgiving TKs

On a ranked server today I noticed that it displayed who was punishing and forgiving for tks. It would go like this

Jimbob teamkills HarryCarry
HarryCarry punishes Jimbob for a teamkill! [5 punishes and 0 forgives]

could we get something like this on tg to help prevent people from instantly punishing every tk?

Nice! I like that a lot! How can that be done on a ranked server? This is more than playing around with localization files. This is server side. How can they be ranked?

Honestly, I don't think I can recall more than 2 punishes for tk's in my entire tg history. It's not really a problem.

on TG its not a problem, but on most other servers its a huge problem. Especislly now with the uber-AA. Its impossible to NOT TK someone with them. BUt alas, people instantly punish, and for now good reason. Hell, they punish so quickly I doubt they even realize what the other guy did. *******s

When was the last time someone was auto-kicked for teamkilling? Generally, the admins step in much quicker than a script would

Re: Public view of punishing/forgiving TKs

actually ive been getting punished quite frequently lately. During the early evening hours, theres a LOT of smacktards on. It seems every time i accidently tk during a bombing run, someone will punish me and its always the pubbers. Actually to tell the truth, i could care less as i have no idea what punishing actually does and i dont see any immediate effect because of it, so they can punish me till the cows come home as long as theres really no negative effect from it.

It's like some people automatically reach for that page down button whenever they are presented with a choice. A script such as the one above might curb some people's entusiasm with pushing the button.

I think the only negative effect is that you lose a few teamwork points. (I think) If you aren't playing for points then it really doesn't matter.

We here at TG are a forgiving bunch. Myself I will forgive a person sooner then punish. But I will punish when needed. (I borrow JMJ's silver, gold inlayed, diamond crusted ban hammer for those.)

Re: Public view of punishing/forgiving TKs

Ive been punished several times recently, but its been taken care of by an admin. Today, someone (he'll remain nameless) got TKed by my claymore. He punished me, and i said in chat "Nice punish". He went on to say that because i didnt say sorry, he punished. Ya just gotta realize that a lot of the time, the guy that teamkilled you had no idea he did. For the most part, you can assume it was accidental.

No platinum? I would surely think that you admins would only use a hammer of the finest quality, not some gold inlayed, diamond crusted piece of junk.

I rarley punish people for TK's unless it happens repeatedly (Of course, if it's really a mistake and they apologize then I'll forgive them anyway) or it's intentional. I wouldn't mind seeing this idea implemented though. I think it might help deter the chronic punishers.

I don't think you understood my post, this is for viewing who is punishing for every teamkill

IE it provides the states of how many times you have punished and how many times you have forgave and displays it each time you punish someone.

Bah, if you have felt the wrath of my ban hammer, I'm about to make it that much more painful as this is what I'm swinging with:
