Think it was under Warranty?

Will the cockpit have to be completely rebuilt? They said that they damaged the outside and got crap all over the instruments.

Doh! Wonder if the eject would have worked if the cockpit became jammed in flight... I assume yes, but boy would it suck if it didn't...

I assume that ejection involves an explosive charge to get the canopy off and would do more damage to the cockpit and the pilot than simply sawing the thing open. And obviously you're not going to fire the seat out while stationary on the ground.

Modern fighters are toast after an ejection. This is at least repairable.

Yeah, ejection is designed to fry the avionics of the plane. Also, injuries resulting from ejection are also quite common. It would be a lot safer and cheaper to cut him out.

See, the canopy was stuck. Kind of like when you get a seatbelt stuck in a door. It's really hard to open. But in this case, instead of a seatbelt I think the guy's ego got stuck

Didn't you ever watch G.I. Joe? The pilots ALWAYS have time to bail out when their planes explode, even if it's AFTER their plane is an 80ft fireball from missile hits.
