New Map Test Night?

We've been talking about testing some new community-made maps. So far, I've seen two (mp_bridge and mp_borisovka) that seem promising. Shall we have a playtest of these maps next week, perhaps on Tuesday (05/23/2006) night? Bone, could we test these on your CoD2 server?

Each of the maps has a download link in our Maps & Mods forum -- just grab 'em and go!

Re: New Map Test Night?

I'd also recommend you looking into Brittany, France (aka Marsh Pub) and the second map starts with an "F" - It's a house on a hill surrounded by corn fields and stuff, very hard map to win for attackers if you don't communicate and work as a team.

Will do -- I have heard good things about that map, but haven't grabbed it yet. I'll get it and check it out.

Is it called mp_fourregerre? I've checked it out, and it definitely seems like an interesting map to try.

EDIT: Whoa, what happened to my post?! Originally there was more content there. Strange. I've filled in the missing parts (see italicized text) that I can remember. Also, here is a link for Marsh Pub.

Re: New Map Test Night?

Yeah, I've made some mod changes, especially to TG Weapons 2.0.

Based on the testing I've done by myself, I would recommend these three maps for our first playtest:

mp_bridge
mp_hill24
mp_borisovka

These three maps seem solid, and they work both alone and together without any problems. When I tried the others, I either found bugs in the maps or the maps would crash.

Try to load it using the command map mp_borisovka. I don't believe the actual map within the IWD file has "_beta" in its name.

Yeah -- everything I uploaded to the FTP server should go in there (overwriting existing files). As far as maps go, I'd recommend running only mp_bridge, mp_hill24, and mp_borisovka for testing tomorrow night, but it's up to you. I know those three should work fairly well in terms of stability.
