Oman and Mashtuur, Tuesday
Couldnt have asked for better rounds for my return to the CO chair. Oman was a blast, US put up the a hell of a fight at the Hotel, especially when it was their only flag, and numerous suqads were put on that flag until it was taken. Dunno how you guys did it: whenever I put a UAV down it seemed their entire team was there. I remember zooming down at one point just in time to catch our attack chopper circle-strafing the Hotel roof, picking off those pesky snipers. We controlled most of the map for most of the round, and by the time US forces revved up their engines, it was too late. Took us a while to get an Air Force up and running, but when we did, things got much easier. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Mashtuur wasnt as balanced, for some reason (maybe no CO for US?). SL's pretty much did what they wanted that round, every flag I pointed to was either flipped or turned in minutes, and if it wasnt for a few US squads that flanked North and South Gas Stations, we'd have won much earlier. Crucial time was when we divided the map to East and West, and had 3 squads patrolling the bridges and entrances the East. Not many of the US forces were able to get through. I had some battle experience there myself, commanding from a lonely flag only to watch it turn neutral 3 feet away. Exit CO screen, peeked around the corner at 4 troops, tossed a grenade. Killed 2 and got shot. Thanks to all the great SL for their patience and compliance. Lucky, NorCal, JackMack (?) and others. You make commanding a pleasure. Well done. The rest of you SL's - sound off. I'd like to hear impressions from these rounds, if you got 'em. Once again - excellent job and good times. ![]() Last edited by Shafik; 05-24-2006 at 06:01 AM. Re: Oman and Mashtuur, Monday
I had a great time playing those maps as well! I was on NorCalRoach's squad. Mashtuur was especially enjoyable. Played as a grunt for a while, and then switched to sniper. I have rarely played sniper, so I am definitely not at the "1 shot, 1 kill" level. Hat's off to gixxen_USMC who was playing sniper on the American side last night. I managed to snipe him 2 or 3 times.... I needed all the digits on my hands and feet to count how many times he got me though
I think our medic (sorry cant remember your name) revived me about 4 times in a row because I kept getting sniped. The 5th time I hear over the intercom "Uh... Muldoon... you sure you want me to revive you again man? " ![]() Was fun times last night. Thanks for the good games guys. Jon |

I played Oman in Cymba's chopper squad. As always, I had a great time flying with him. We swapped in and out of the pilot's chair taking our turns trying to get around the hotel flag with ground fire and USMC jet pilots (Arf and Visser I believe) really taking it to us. Nice job to the USMC squad's who put up a fight.
Mashtuur I was leading squad six for about half the round. I wanted to say both thank you and sorry to my squad for a job well done and then my connection dropped out on me. When I rejoined the server the squad was locked and I couldn't get back in. I tried using teamchat but I don't think anyone saw it or they just didn't want me back in the squad Regardless, well done to: Doggz, perry, Sculls, heyob (I STILL can't pronounce your name ) and Sumluv. Shafik you did a great job in the CO chair. I was impressed with the amount of communication you were giving without being overly chatty and you were very responsive on all requests. Were you using the ctrl+v keys to talk to 1 or 2 squads at once?

Re: Oman and Mashtuur, Monday
USMC needs to stop trying to hold construction site and leave all the beach flags undefended =/. You just get raped by the chopper from the UCB and then the US jets/chopper can't get past the AA defense at the beach flags. Oman is kind of a lose/lose situation for US, if they hold beach flags they're in the open and get bombed, if they hold construction site/hotel they can take cover but then get hammered by the chopper.

Re: Oman and Mashtuur, Monday
We had good rounds on both Oman and Mashtuur for the MEC. On Mashtuur, our squad tried to take the routes less taken as it seemed some of the squads were bunching up. So after we took the South Gas Station, then up to the North Gas Station before helping squad 4 retake the hotel. The squad was extremely flexible in our game plan even when it changed several times before we even set off from a flag at times.
On Oman, we ventured towards the River Fort and after a quick cap began to set in for defense. We were called at different times to help cap the Construction site, help defend the Olive Hill Fort or send kill teams to aid at the Rock Fort or at the Hotel. The best part had to be when we received a request to take the hotel. It was a high priority target for Shafik and he called us in after the defense at the hotel had frustrated other squads with great support from Shafik (vehicle drops, arty requests fulfilled and support from choppers to keep their armor empty). My screenshots didn't take, but it was a solid squad of great teammates who were quick to answer any objective that we were called on. Lucky Shot |
