Want some practice w/ your pistol skillz??

In the server search bar, type in pistol. You'll find several servers whose rules are that you can only use pistol, knife, and shock paddles. The object of the game isn't to go and capture flags like normally, the USMC actually gets the Hotel flag (usually playing on Karkand). The point is just to get kills. And u get a lot of them, too, btw. DeGreatSaiyaman was playing w/ me, and he was number 1 on our side, w/ well over 200 points. Its a lot of fun for a while, and it is really good practice.

If you're using an account that has stats on it, you care about those stats, and the server is ranked, you'd do best to stay away from those servers. They're against some rule system EA has setup and people like reporting the servers and everyone on them so that stats get reset.

Eww, that's not good.. do you mean down to 0, or just erasing what you got while there? I don't care about stats, but I do care about my unlocks! It was definately ranked, because I got the pistol badge. I don't really think it's a big problem tho, because there were many servers doing this, and the one I was on even had admins that would kick players using any other weapon. So, I doubt it would actually be reported while I'm playing.

But EA can retrieve the players and where they got all of the xp points and on which server, then delete accordingly.

Mabey, probably depending on how many points you got. If you got like 1,000 on one of those servers, then you are most likley a gonner, but they might just delete anyway for 100 points for "violating the ROE."

Bads things can happen to you and any person with TG tags on. When it comes to EA and the stats. They made a definitive post on it around 1.1 patch or somewhere around there. Stating that if a person is reported or caught breakin ROE. That they can if the situation warrants delete that persons and any persons affiliated with then (ie same clan)!

Would they really go about deleting +700 BF2 player's accounts just because one person did it?

Anyway, just don't use the tag or steer clear of those.

Violating the RoE will cause your stats to be reset (all to 0, all badges gone, all unlocks gone). If you go even further than that and try manipulating the system through game modification or hacks, then you get PunkBuster dealing with you as well (GUID/Hardware ban anyone?).

Your account is NOT deleted, just wiped of all its stats. If you want to participate in the ranking system, you have to play by the rules. A copy of the RoE can be found at the following location:

When a player is reported, many things are checked. I cannot get into specifics, but you can get in trouble for even BEING on such a server, even if you didnt do anything, and it was three months ago. Additionally, everyone sharing clan tags with you will be investigated, and they're stats are at risk.

There's a reason why TG servers are unranked, and thats why we all play on them, =)

Woah, woah, woah. I don't want anyone gettin the wrong idea here about me & what I'm about. I surely wasn't trying to "stat pad" or something as EA would probably have you believe. I was just having fun and honing in on my pistol skills there. I had no idea it was against these RoE rules (whatever that stands for).. as, I don't spend my days catching up on all of the rules that I'm allowed to play my games by. (btw, I did just look at these rules... and it's pretty crazy how much they control ranked servers).

Anyways, I was using my TG tag. I really doubt that anything will ever be done, though. But, if I lose all of my unlocks one day, I'll know why.

So, if a server is not ranked, then is it ok to play on a server like this (there probably aren't any around anyways).

In closing, thanks for letting me know about this. I'm glad I made this thread so that I could be told, and not continue playing on these servers.. even though this is a bit embarrasing. I just don't want anyone looking at me as the "bad guy" here, when I had the best of intentions.

No worries. EA seems to be acting pretty strange with these rules anyways.. They have two organizations that both claim to be the official home of the rules and reporting violators.. But one is run by a game hosting company that has some sort of conflict of interest (what would they do to "illegal" servers that are reported to them and that they host?), and they aren't even linked on EA's website. It's a big mess as far as I'm concerned, and is really something EA should run themselves instead of farming out.

Now that you know, just steer clear. It's more for your own good than TG, but we don't wanna put TG in a sticky situation either.
