what makes a good SL/SM
I started thinking about this the other day when I was SL'ing and noticed that I consistently went to the same one or two squad members (SM's) to get something done. I also notice that there are a couple of guys out there that have my total support when they SL. So what is it that makes a good SL/SM? I know what the requirements are but what in your opinion makes or brakes the soldier.
SL- I've got to give Rick_the_new_Guy a huge WOOT for this. He knows everyone in his squad by name. I've tried that and can't for the life of me remember who is who or who is where and who is what kit. I also like when a SL gives the choice of going on point or rear guard to the SM's. It gives the SM's a chance to do what they are good at instead of making a guy with no point training, who hates the M249, go up front. I also like the fact that in the middle of a fire fight Rick keeps us from ranging to far ahead or behind, there have been very few times were one of us was wounded or killed becuase we were way far out. Most of the time we just get mauled by the 33rd as they "smoke and joke" through us.
SM- I like a SM to take orders but I don't want blind robots. I like nothing better than to have a SM tell me what his opinion is of an objective or offer advice because he/she sees more than I can. Just as long and the final decision on course of action resides with the SL.
So tell me what you think. I'm hoping that this thread will help all of us get better at whatever we do in game.
