Knoxville and surrounding...

Ok guys, with the vegas game coming up I think that we southern boys need to know these westerners down a peg. I propose that everyone in the knoxville area get together for a LAN game the same day that the Vegas game is happening. We can take them I know we can. What do you guys think?

The Vegas shindig was cancelled...

Knoxville isn't too bad a drive for me, though. Plus I'd probably get to meet John and Faultline...

Hmmm...interestinggggggggg...

Ok this sounds promising. I think there is a new LAN center here in knoxville. I will call them to see what kind of hardware they have and if they have BF2 and the boosters. I'll also check on pricing.

If it's only a few of us then we could always do it @ my brothers house in Farragut. There we have the options of grilling + beer

I found the web page for Epic Game center in knoxville: http://www.epicgamecenter.com/main.a...=dp&dis=309268

I'll call these guys this evening and check on the booster packs and group rates.

Re: Knoxville and surrounding...

I spoke with the guys @ Epic Game center (above link) and they are running a summer special, $15 for all day. They have 12 PC stations with BF2 installed. He said they just have vanilla installed but they are willing to install the expansion packs. They are located on the cumberland strip right next to UT campus. It would be easy walking distance to food and such. Anyone have a preferred date?

How convenient ! It is within 5 min walk distance to my lab. What are these guys trying to do? How can you put such a sin house so close to an academic institution? What's next

I am quite flexible on date Wimpinator.

Re: Knoxville and surrounding...

If it is thought to be a big event that would last over 2-3 hours than I would only be able to do a Friday-Sunday date.

Re: Knoxville and surrounding...

Yeah I would say that it would have to be on a weekend. A saturday may be best for anyone that may have to travel. I may wander by this Epic place to check it out this weekend if I am in the area.

Re: Knoxville and surrounding...

If I can ever catch the funds, I'm going to start a 2 story arcade in my home town of Selmer, TN. We're south of Jackson, about 2 hours from Memphis.

First story is going to be xbox/PS2 lans... second story is going to be PC lans...

I'll probably have to live out of the basement, but that's my eventual dream... to open my own business.

But sure, I'd be up for it. I just can't drive farther than Jackson without time to save money for gas.

Actually, we could probably get access to the gymnasium of our community center here to host it... if concerned about prices, we'd probably be able to get it free for the weekend, maybe... 100 bucks at the most.. that's only 10 guys with 10 bucks... lol. Plenty of space, and there's an upstairs and a basement that looks similar to walking into a crypt in WoW. Not many food places in town, but we could always have a few grills set up outside. BYOB, and such. Hell, we could even do a fund raiser...

Up to you guys though.
