Friday Mashtur

Had a great time last night on Bocage (?) and Mashtur. Kudos to our SL Reader1234 for a good job. Defending the Mosque on Mashtur was a full time job against a determined offensive. Here's our squad.

Re: Friday Mashtur

That was a very fun round of Mashtuur. USMC started out with a CO who didn't command. After he resigned about a quarter way through the map, I took the CO position. I think Duke went CO for the other side around the same time I did. My SLs were all very responsive and the SMs did a great job. I even got to help out on defense with my sniper rifle because the SLs knew exactly what they were doing.

Re: Friday Mashtur

The MEC sniper rifle is definently at a disadvantage against the USMC sniper rifle at anything longer than short distances. But, I'm glad you had fun.

Re: Friday Mashtur

That was indeed a great round. At the end I remarked it was the best Mashtuur round I ever played. I SL'd USMC Squad 2. We clicked very well the whole round. My SM's were thebleakaffinity, JimmyTwoTimes (I mean TwoHand), Icky, GRANPA2, and E0. Most of the time we defended Backyard with a zone defense covering the southern mountain road approaches and the southern bridge from Power Plant. We lost it once but quickly regained control by moving from South Gas Station with a joint Helo insertion and ground assault from the south.

EO and Bleak were my tank crew..switching off driving, destroying, repairing, etc. Icky was the AT specialist...any tanks moving across the south bridge soon fell prey to his SRAW. Jimmy was again medic extraordinaire being able to pick enemy off in the riverbed while dropping health packs and reviving as necessary. Granpa was johnny on the spot with ammo and mean with his LMG. Great job guys, well done!

Sordavie, It was easy being a SL under your command. Your orders were pertinent, your answers to support requests timely, and your encouragement was motivational. Excellent job.

Thanks for the kind words English, but I am curious was that the round where I stepped away and you guys left the Squad and rejoined and put me back in the SL position?

Because I am still laughing that I stepped away and came back to being the SL of the best squad for that round LOL.

Great job SLing that round loyal. It obviously made a big impression on me as i showed the positions you had us in during the irreg practice today. I refined it a little but we ran some defense drills around the principle of engaging away from the flag using your dispositions and that flag and it proved very solid.

Re: Friday Mashtur

I absolutely loved that round.

At first, I wasn't happy because the MEC side got quickly pushed back to the power station, but they soon rallied and forced our guys off of hotel, then we had a game.

Our defense at Backyard was beautiful. A spread-out defense works well as long as all of the squad members are paying attention to the flag and spotting incoming contacts. The enemy tank rarely managed to get anywhere near us beause we had him spotted the second he left power plant.

Well done by the whole squad.

Yes that was the round. I'm not sure who took over while you were gone but it got a little quiet.
