Tactical Mod: Map rotation updated

Just as an FYI.... we've updated the tactical mod map rotation. No, it's not any new maps, but we've made it so that the custom maps are played a bit more frequently than the stock maps. We all get to play the stock maps every night of the week so we wanted to give everyone a chance to experience the custom maps a bit more.

So if you haven't done so already, download the mod and join us Sunday night.

Very nice I felt that there were too many stock maps. Especially when the server crashes.

Good stuff. The custom maps are starting to give the Tactical Mod even more of a distinct feel from vanilla.

Bocage I could maybe understand even though it's terrible but Nan Hai? Why is that even in the rotation? Isn't that the map with the choppers and almost all water? Just because it's a custom map doesn't mean it's fun.

I don't think Nan Hai is part of the tac mod. There are some maps in the totalbf2 map packs that, while installed as part of the map packs, aren't supported by the mod.

Oh man, that night we played through all the custom maps. There was one in there that had a CP called "Rock" and it was just a couple of boulders in the middle of water...and you couldn't even get on the boulders!! All you could do was dog paddle around and make as many Dwayne Johnson jokes as possible...

That one was really awful except for everyone laughing about how bad it was...that made it tolerable!!

I think that was when we played all of the maps in TotalBF2 Map Pack 2 on the private server. That pack was released just a few months after BF2 was released and I guess the custom map pool was rather shallow at that time because I think most people would agree that it includes several, um, interesting maps, including Nan Hai.

Yeah that's Mahoni Island and it probly took the guy 2 hours to make...it's the size of a poststamp and is just bad. What's even funnier is one of the devs from DICE looked at that mappack and actually said the map was "cool" or something like that. That says a lot about his honesty heh...what's the point of having a dev review your mappack if he's just going to lie about it.

Oh man i remember that, that was a fun night. What was worse was that the CP was easily within range of fire from the shore and it had one solitary boat which was constantly subject to a barrage of AT rockets.
