Sat 7/8 Evening
I played tonight from about 18-20 Eastern tonight and was happy to see not one but two "Learn TG" squads. Good showing all!
I joined the first one on Kubra and took over as SL. I personally hate Kubra (because I suck at developing good strategy for it) but we made some good progress. My SM's were: [GWJ] Propagandalf, Keeper, kuso-monome, Foxoq, and dgf872. We were MEC and immediately went for upper damn. We kept up solid pressure for about 5-7 minutes but it was too hard to take so we then went for lower damn. We quickly grabbed it and held it for the round despite constant onslaught. This was my first time leading a "Learn TG" squad so I tried to be very conscientions of kit loadouts, positions, areas of responsibility, and solid orders. We had a very solid defense set up with infantry skirmishers and heavy weapons under shelter to help suppress destroy. Despite losing to bleed...we had a good round. Next was Sharqui. dfg had to go but eflight came in to help out. We battled the whole time mostly between City Entrance and Surveillance Post. USMC kept outflanking us from the NW so it was hard to keep them back. We had some excellent mechanized maneuvers on this round. After losing City Entrance one time we had an APC and 3 Vodniks all load up from Club House and converge on City Entrance. As we approached one vehicle would break left and approach from the North and the next South, alternating, so we could converge in the middle and overwhelm them on the flag. The few defenders there didn't know what hit 'em. We ended the round with a well orchestrated multi-direction attack on Hotel which held for an approximate 7 seconds before tbe round ended. My last round was Zatar. With the same squad as Sharqui I knew we could work well together. I varied kit assignments so everyone could try something new. Again as MEC we quickly took Natural Gas Station. Somehow, RedBane kept magically appearing there to harass us. He may have discovered teleportation becuse he seemed to show up every couple of minutes inside the fence line and try to take us out. Amazing. I didn't want to spend the whole round on defense so while the battle raged at Central Island, I decided to go for Factory. A joint helo/APC attack failed so I decided to go with a dual-APC attack from the South supported by Infantry. This worked beautifully. When we got within 100 meters I told the APC's t approach no further but to bombard the flag building with rounds. Then, infantry moved in under the suppressive fire of the APCs and quickly took the flag. We held it for the most of the round until a massive armor attack from Village wiped us out. Again, a loss but a lot of great teamwork. In summary, a lot of fun as usual. We need to make sure we have a Learn TG squad more often. We lost every round I played tonight (coincidence, I'm sure ) but the teamwork was excellent, we pulled off some sound tactical maneuvers, and eflight bought the beers. Many thanks to my SM's...job well done!

Re: Sat 7/8 Evening
Tonight was really alot of fun. There was alot of teamwork going around on our side as well. But I have to say that Inishail Forest has now become my favorite map to play. The AK just seems so much more deadly on that map than on any other. I had some adrenaline rushing on that map for sure. Very entertaining. Sorry to whoever's squad I was in. I always seem to wander a bit too far on that map.

Re: Sat 7/8 Evening
I think i was the culprit for the two sqauds. I left the irregs practice and started a learn TG squad on S1 only to immediately crash out of game. When i came back in it looked like the first learn squad was in loyals capable hands so full of zeal i started a second. Unfortunately i did an atrocious job on kubra and an equally woeful job on karkand so i bowed out at that point. Its good to have the learn squads rolling again though.

Latter on in the evening i was SLing '3 Man' squad with EFlight & CarRamRod, we had a good time and did well on 16 player Road Rage. i've got to hand it to you two, you made Sling easy, I gave an instruction and you both followed it out immediatly and to the letter. Most of the map we were sitting back and defending and letting the 6 man squad attack the flags, we repulshed 80% of attacks and you guys did well supporting the 6 man squad in attacking, when them seemed to be having trouble taking the flag.

Re: Sat 7/8 Evening
I was in a squad defending the Upper dam, in armor. Exceptional teamwork and communication managed to keep me alive for what seemed to be forever, till the the Hostiles caught on. We had that flag completely covered. There was no taking it away. Excellent AT'ing by C4_SGT_York, and specatcular work by all Engineers (I remember Jmaker, and someone else...) repairing me that I managed to dodge. I think dfg872 was operating the hostile tank. Great fights we had there, dude.

Re: Sat 7/8 Evening
Great rounds in your squad loyal, very fun night overall as well...
Defending that lower damn flag was awesome, we chewed up attack after attack. There were a few particularly intense moments, but for the most part things went well. Great SL'ing as well, you were very clear in your plans. See ya on the battlefield |
