Hello TG!

My name is Matt and I stumbled across your forums as I was browsing the web for... Armed Assault I believe. Anyway, one link led to another and I ended up here. As I had read up on Magnum's great info on AA I decided to browse the website some more as it seemed like a bunch of good people. The more I read the happier I was, and when I saw the SOPs I knew I had found something good... The sig with "Tactics. Teamwork. To the extreme." just put a big smile on my face.

I've had BF2 lying on the shelf for some time now, and one of the major reasons I stopped playing was because I never found the community I was looking for. I got into one with good and friendly people that I played with for a while, but the organized games took place only within the regular squads. Now I don't have the time to dedicate myself to a squad, so I missed out on the thing I really wanted from BF2. Teamwork.

I wouldn't call myself a very skilled player. I get my share of kills, give some - take some. What I enjoy most isn't my personal achievement, but instead that of the platoon. One of the best experiences I've had in BF2 was as SL on Karkand US side, where my squad was assigned to guarding the Train accident, to prevent the MEC from breaking out while the rest of the platoon was assaulting the pocket of resistance in Suburbs. Oh man, I died alot that round. But to see the platoon work together and knowing that you had a mission to complete just made me feel all good inside (the fact that we managed to hold the place against constant assaults and win the round didn't make things worse). And yes, it was on your server!

Being from Scandinavia the time difference is a bugger, and things usually start to get interesting on the server around 1-2 a.m. Because of this I haven't played that often on your server even though I've known about it for a few weeks now. When I do however I enjoy it very much and I've recommended some of my friends to play there too since I know there are others looking for the teamplay offered on the TG server. I've downloaded the TACmod but haven't had the pleasure of trying it yet. Most likely only a matter of time.

Military language is not new to me after spending some time in greens, but the trouble is I never learned it in english! Some words escapes me, and more then once I've not been able to let the squad know where that sniper is. But hey, you learn something new every day, right? I'm pretty sure I'll get the hang of it. When playing as a common grunt it's rarely a problem, but I've played a few rounds as SL lately and I guess that is where it shows most; my problem with conveying my thoughts correctly. Also, it's easy to blame the language barrier when you're doing an overall bad job as a SL, heh.

Either way, I'm very glad I found this community even though it ruins my sleeping habits.

You can't blame the language barrier when you type English as well as you do!

Welcome to TG, glad you have fun when you are able to play. We just don't have enough Euro dudes to get the server populated any earlier than we do. Give the SOPs & rules another quick glance and have fun on the battlefield!

Re: Hello TG!

Welcome aboard Sierra- don't let you english deter you from communicating, I know some guys on the 33rd that can't speak english very well on a regular basis, but that's for different reasons. Come on Teamspeak if you can't stay up long enough for the server to fill up. You'll likely find Euro fellas or lazy americans without jobs and/or lazy americans with jobs that just didn't go to work so that they can run around playing BF2 on public servers.

Re: Hello TG!

Hello Sierra. Not many Scandinavian players left active on BF2(at TG) theese days. I'm playing out of Norway and routinely pop into the "Pubraid" channel on teamspeak. We have got a few players from other places in Europe though and theese will also usually be on the "Pubraid" channel throughout the day. Feel free to meet up with us there as we play public- "the TG way".

I'm eagerly awaiting the sequel to BF2 together and of course Armed Assault..........

Re: Hello TG!

Welcome to the last place you'll want to play BF2...Glad you found us...I was in the same boat...about ready to give up on BF2 because of the pubbie madness....One day I did a search on BF2 Squad Tactics and found TG...voila...the rest is history.

Re: Hello TG!

Welcome to TG!

If you guys can handle some small games, I would encourage you to get on the server just before the time it normally fills up and make your numbers count. There are lots of folks who scan the server numbers and don't join if it is below a certain number. By just adding a few guys to the TG server at those times, you can get things going.
