"A positive “A” sample does not prove that a rider used performance-enhancing substances; a second sample, the “B” sample, still must be tested to confirm the result."

I would agree with you that it does not look good, certainly in the public's eye. It seems being accused of doping is on par with being accused of child molestation , you are always looked upon as guilty.

Why do they even try to get away with this? Anyone who tests positive and it is confirmed should be banned permanently....there's some incentive to stop using.

The tour de france is constantly like this. There are always a handful of positive tests for something or other.

I agree that should be for any sport but if that was the case, NFL would have 4 teams and MLB would be 15 games a season.....Canadian football would exploide.

Yeah, like idiocy.

Re: Tour De France Winner Flunks Drug Test

Does anyone remember SNL's "All Drug Olympics?" Why not go all out? Some drugs may turn out to be performance inhibitors, like marijuana for example, or barbituates, or whatever. Look at Bode Miller, that guy was winning under the influence of depressants (alcohol). Can't disqualify him for that!

I wouldn't really have an issue with a 15 game MLB season

Now I would definitely miss the NFL
