Polar Bear Attack in the High Arctic

This is from up in the Yukon. This chap is lucky to be alive -- he survived the bear attack. The bear jumped on him while he was sleeping in his tent and he managed to get it off of him and shoot it.

One tough camper!

lucky? did you see the last three pics? thats lucky? hell, ive been camping tons of times and never been mauled by a bear.....im lucky

<tangent> why, when someone is horribly injured but not killed, do we say theyre lucky? why isnt the guy who looked both ways before stepping in front of that bus lucky? lol ....anyway back to the topic at hand.

Head up north (past the border), food is very scarce up here, and in the Polar Bear Capital of Canada (northern Manitoba) there have been reports of Polar bears eating each other for food. Bears get very, very close to humans around there.

thats kind of odd, because my friends were just talking to me about this in school yesterday hah, I wanna shake that guy's hand though. "hey dude, this weekend i got into a fight at the bar and won!" "Oh yeah? I killed a bear after he broke into my tent and beat the **** out of me!"
