Karkand, Songhua, Sharqi 8-12-06
Hey Jaymind, Reader, Millipede, and all the other fellas that escape my memory so soon after, we had a helluva squad there on Karkand and then on Songhua and Sharqi. We were MEC defending Hotel at Karkand for the longest time up until the round ended. That's why Karkand is still one of the best maps to play. I love all the battles in the alleyways and the hide and seek and flanking maneuvers that occur in that area.
Jaymind is an outstanding squad leader. That's the one thing I'm not too adept at, always communicating and telling us where to be and where the enemy is. Everyone was talking and just having fun. Our squad was just money tonight. Tonight was exactly the reason I love playing here at TG. See, even 14 months after this game came out, it's still as fun as the day I bought it. Just thought I'd share that with everyone. +rep to TG

Saturday night's alright for fighting!!
A night of OpFor'ing on Sharqi, Daqing, Mashtuur, Dalian, Karkand...oh man, Karkand!!! After today's Irregs practice I went into a few hours of Tactical Gamer goodness, culminating in one of the funnest games I've ever played. On Sharqi it was a smaller game with about 22 players. I was in Exploding_Silver's squad...and spent much of my time being dead For a small game there seemed to be some pretty intense pressure at times.Daqing was not so successful for me. Beerwarrior72 and I spent a good deal of time have our assets handed to us by Calvin and Snail. We were trying to support the fight by manning the Chinese attack helo...forevermore known to me as the clay pidgeon. Mashtuur is a blur. Dalian was a hoot fighting around Main Entrance and Maintenance buildings...spent a bunch of time doing engy work. There is something strangely satisfying about taking out a 3 guys and a FAV with a mine...and being there point blank to witness it ![]() Karkand...well that game was just awesome. I think that's the busiest I've been, ever. Jaymind was leading the squad with millipede, melee, reader1234, jmaker and myself. It was a blast having Jaymind as SL...a lot of fun. We started out at Suburbs and ended spending most of our time at Hotel and Square. It was frenzied fighting the whole time! If we weren't in a fight we were running to a fight...then to another fight...for the whole round! Just had an awesome time tonight...and to echo jmaker: Quote:

Songhua tonight was the 1st game I actually SL a full squad from start to finish. Our first move was to take central, but I think the other squad was there before we arrive. Then the inevitable happened and the PLA lost the HQ and central became a hot zone as the USMC start attacking from the west.
Our squad started with only 3 people, so I decided to defend central and let other full squads do the capping. As our squad grows from 3 to full with wussypoo and other player with TG tags on (not sure if they are regulars as their name is pretty to new me), we started to work our way west and try to take HQ back. We flipped the flag once or twice but it went back to USMC quite fast. My last run to PLA HQ was with the transport chopper with me flying and try to have my squad helo drop cap the flag. We never got it as our squad were being hammered by a lot of foot enemies and tank, with the USMC transport chopper constantly trying to ram me down. It took a few tries but I was finally rammed down, and only until then I've realized that the PLA HQ was the USMC's only flag! So I have my squad spawn back to central and just defend there, with 2 position at the south and 2 at the north and 2 at the flag. I can feel after a while that some of the SM are getting bored, so after I am sure the USMC had more flags than 1 and we have a very good lead. we all went to the HQ and try to take it back. Not sure if I am doing a good job but it was fun, and thanks to the SM for sticking with me the whole round! ![]()

Squad: "It looks like they're doing high-altitude para drops from their chopper!" Me: "Hey! There's a transport sitting on the pad right here! Want me to go up and take 'em down?" DV: "Sure, go for it!" Me: "(hesitating) But, are we sure that ramming tactics are allowed?" DV: "Well, there's no other way to take that thing down, is there?" Me: "(evil grin) Roger, attacking now!" The "dogfight" between the two PLA transports that ensued had all the gracefulness of cows humping, but I finally got the attack vector right and we all went down in a flaming ball of destruction. I had a great time in DV's squad, as we were attacking objectives all over the map. At times we must have looked more like a travelling circus troupe than a fighting squad, given all the banter going on, but it was a hoot. Thanks for the great game to all! |

Re: Karkand, Songhua, Sharqi 8-12-06
The vanillia game time in preperation for the FCW scrim has been going well.
After weeks of Tac Mod, what little twitch i had has faltered somewhat. I feel more confident now. Story checks out about Jaymind, gang. Like a rock. YOu drop he and his squad off somewere to cap or defend a flag, and their not going anywere until the match ends; and that's reluctently. Thanks to the Opfor in the Mash pit and D. Plant. Those were good games. We got pushed around at the Mash but rallied to a 67-0 lose. WE won by a good 20 tickets when the timer ran out at the D Plant. Mash : it is a o.k. lose when it ends with the enemy bleeding. Squad 1= SugarNCamo. Squad 2= Jaymind Squsd 3= NorCalroach Perhaps a smaller squad. D. Plant Squad 1= SugarNCamo (infantry) Squad 2= Jaymind (infantry) Squad 4= Snaill88 (jets/ armor/ gunships (Santa)/ UCB assests defense (perry). Things started off ruff (squad 5 who did not have a mic took 2s transport chopper; squad later left), so our initial deployment was weak. But we slowly evened the score even though bleed was not on for the majority of the match. The air power was sick awsome. First half, 1 assaulted/ then second half 2 assaulted. I felt cheap using arty when they did not have a CO, but we needed to get the win. Sure with 1 min left, and a 20 ticket spread, a better man would have eased off, but I did not. What can i say i am sick, i need help.

Re: Karkand, Songhua, Sharqi 8-12-06
The rest of the maps. ( Karkand/ S. Stalemate/ S. Penn I was with Santa's squad. squad 4 (JETS? ) it was left over from D. Plant.
Those were good maps, and good action with gentle 40 second calms inbetween storms. Although Karkand has its issues with the out of bounds lose of health deal, I agree with jmaker, it is tight. Karkand: engineer. Train accident and and Gate house defense. Awsome moment when sordavie or santal hit the C4 and their vic got biggy air. i am talking 45 meters up in the air people. Another wild moment was when the 33rd got a humvee over the bridge (when it was gone??) intreeging. We somehow repulsed them. Things got better when TG mellee (CO late in round) started hitting them with arty. close win. S. Stalemate: Support/ was medic for a while after i switched kits and got our medic up/ then back as support. another ruff start but a good strong rally. We cap central Iland and later went after west perimeter and then Fish Factory when the Platoon was struguling. We defended both those flags so we saw a lot of action. Sordavie was engineer in his own squad so that helped at Fish Factory. 33rd were our sparing parters again, man what fun. they did a nice cap when they rolled up in a buggy and capt the flag. we ralled back after spawning at West P and with RP's squads help got factory back. Finished third overall. most team work points/best ground defense. I was whoring that guard tower/bunker like no other at the south west interest at Fish Factory. P.S. you know your spaming amo when your only offensive measure when a enemy attacks u is to throw a bag at them and hope that it is a C4 goodie bag and it somehow ignites on impact. lol. S. Penn: AT first half/ medic second half. Hotel cap and defense. Also Survalliance random caps. Fun stuff and Hotel. tau had our back with his one man sniper squad west of the hotel. Very intese but managable action. Something happened that was Han Solo like. I jumped over the north concrete wall at the hotel flag and standing there was four or five enemy soilders who were all looking at me. I took a knee and shot from the hip and wasted two and wounded others, some how i ran away without later needing to call D. Blonov and ask him who is surgion was. very weird stuff. I would like to know who those cats were. Indeed +reps to TG.

The other rounds were pretty good too but by the time we were playing Sharqi I got a nasty headache, so I had to leave early.

LOL, I am sure. The fact that the flag is so close to the out-of-bound area makes it really tought to move around.

I left S2 and then got that damn bug where you can't join or create a squad. By the time I got back into the game, thanks to an invite from Jaymind, they were gone. Cheers. |
