high ping

My ping is higher on the TG poe2 server than on Server #1, at about 300. Are they not located in the same place?

Re: high ping

I'm used to a relatively high ping, and can play rather well considering, but this is way too high. 300-360 is unplayable. It's basically the events server, isn't it? I've played on it before with a descent ping. Could it be because it's full? I'll try and join tomorrow when it's empty.

Re: high ping

My ping dropped from 260 to just over 200 when playing on the Events Server, so there's definitely a difference.

Re: high ping

well, your in australia right? server one is in virginia, the POE2 server is in texas. Since its closer to you, the lower ping is understandable.

Re: high ping

That would also explain my higher ping. That blows. I thought S1 was in Texas too. Looks like no TG POE2 for me. that rhymes.

Re: high ping

My ping is also higher on this server at around 100 compared to around 50 on server 1. Ingame it also seems to be alot more choppy. Is that because of the ping?

Re: high ping

I know what you mean Shafiq, in Europe I really noticed a lot of difference with that added ping going to Texas. I would normally get around 130 while now I had between 190 and 250. I don't want to moan too much about it but heck, I would love to hit more than 30% of the infantry running around in front of my tank . Perhaps it is worth considering switching BF2 vanilla to the Texas server and moving POE to Server 1 if this full conversion works as well as it looks it will be doing?

Re: high ping

I would love for the admins to at least try putting POE2 on Server 1, just for a bit, to see if the same people still have issues.

Re: high ping

We are already in the process of addressing this and in all likelyhood will be provisioning a new server in the Virginia datacenter over the next couple of days.

Please be patient.

Re: high ping

Apophis: the whole European continent thanks you.

FWIW: I'm getting pings in the mid-200s at the moment from The Netherlands. This makes for some freaky effects on the TV missles (launching from *behind* the vehicle, and impossible to guide), and obviously makes my aim even crappier than it already is. It's a humbling experience, playing with you lot.

Re: high ping

My ping is the same as on Server 1, but I and several others have noticed that looking at anything through a scope makes things warpy as hell, and thus impossible to hit anything.
