Getting kicked when "Guardian" loads?

Theres a now known bug that whenever you load the map "Gaurdian" on low Terrain settings, you CTD. Just bump terrain up to medium and youll be good to go.

Hmm since 1.4 I am getting regular ctd's, much more then in 1.3. This made it so that I didn't detect this earlier: I ALWAYS ctd on Guardian, and my terrain is on medium.

I wonder, is this
a) A possible faulty install of guardian?
b) Poor mapping, even poorer then for the maps that don't play with low terrain?

(If I am correct those maps just don't have the necessary files for low terrain due to lazyness or disregard for players with older pc's.)

*edit* Checked the mapfiles, there are four items in the guardian folder that look correct to me. Maybe someone for whom it works could chek the size of his guardian folder, mine is "67,4 MB (70.749.931 bytes)" , size on disk is "67,5 MB (70.778.880 bytes)".

Yeah I've noticed a few more ctd's of late. I was wondering if it was maybe temps on my card or case, but I've checked and everything seems fine.

It might be just me, but accusing a mod team -- that has worked for years, without compensation, to release a mod which puts many commercial games to shame, offering over 1 Gigabyte's worth of code and content, totally free of charge -- of lazyness, poor mapping and disregard for the players seems utterly disrespectful. More so when the cause is most likely to be found in your hardware, drivers, configuration, or other software. The vast majority (all?) of the players can run Guardian just fine, when set to medium textures or higher.

Be sure you are not running a BF2 miniimage through daemontools or Alc. 120%. That gives a lot of CTDs.

Weird. I've run BF2 through a mini image since day 1 and never crash to desktop.

I got heaps of them until I stopped using it. After that they went away.

I was getting CTD's w/ Guardian. I checked my video settings and found that Terrain was already on Medium. I believe I had to also up "details" (not in front of bf2) to Medium for this to work.

I get CTDs at the start of Guardian and Orel, but not consistently. My terrain detail, iirc, is low, but since I don't CTD all the time that can't be the whole story.

Interesting that you mention that. I CTD yesterday in Orel and then did it again today as part of Bom's squad.

Well I just ctd when the server changed to gaurdian and i rebooted and still ctd I'm going to try the terrain thing next
