Feedback

I've been playing on your server over the last few days, and I wanted to provide the server admins with some feedback. I really like the idea of making a server that encourages teamwork. So much so that I was willing to put up with all the things that have made playing on your server so frustrating. However... I've finally reached the tipping point, and I just don't think I can endure it anymore.

To start with... even if you don't do anything an admin doesn't like, you are going to get kicked very frequently to "make room for supporting members". I understand why this is in place... but it kicks people a LOT. Most reserve slot systems work by preventing players from joining in the first place and having real "slots" that the reserve members can fill. Your system kicks every time a reserve member joins. Also, since the server never appears "full" from the game browser, people are going to be frequently joining and getting kicked, or joining right after someone was kicked and then someone left, and taking the place of someone who had already been there.

The other frustrating thing is that on top of all the kicking you get normally, you have to walk on eggshells around any admins, because some of them kick on a whim. Accidentally run over an admin? Kick. Get in a jet before joining the jet squad (and not aware of it)? Admin tks you with a rocket on the runway, and kicks you, rather than just telling you to get in a jet squad. Do a jump when you see someone cause you are surprised? Bunnyhopping (almost got kicked). I've had some admins tell me I can run a c4ed car into a tank as long as I survive, while others have said they'll kick me for it. To sum it up... I never know if there is something I am going to do, or not do, that is going to get me kicked because an admin didn't like it.

So.. I don't plan on playing on your servers anymore. I hope you take this post as constructive criticism and make changes for the better, but I don't expect it. I just had to get it off my chest. Good luck.

Re: Feedback

Thanks for visiting. Sorry that our style is not a good fit for you.

I just want to point out a couple of errors in your post.

- The server only has 62 open slots. The 2 extra are for supporting members. Due to EAs poor design, there is no other way we can have the server set up. It is not ideal, but all regular visitors to our forums know and understand it.

- Players are not frequently removed either. Players are kicked in order -- longest playing non SM gets kicked first. I have seen you on the server for over an hour at time during primetime.

- Our admins do not ever TK. We have the power to ban problem players, we will not bother with TKing them. If any player is ever intentionally TK'd by a TG member, that TG member will be banned from our servers.

Re: Feedback

I think your third paragragh must of been an experience on some other server. That certainly does not sound like TG to me.

Re: Feedback

Yeah bro you must be confusing our server with some other servers. I can pretty much guarantee that no admin, let alone anyone with a TG tag will teamkill you on purpose. Who exactly do you think are actual admins on the server? Not everyone with the TG tag has admin privileges to the server, so I highly doubt that you've been kicked from the server other than for the supporting member script.

Sorry to say that you're disappointed with the supporting member script system that we have setup here. It's simply a way to reserve a spot for paying members of the community. If you're desparate for teamwork I'd advise you to not be hasty in your decision since I doubt you'll find the same level of organization on other public servers. If you still cannot endure it, good luck to you. I know you were tearing it up in the chopper tonight.

Sorry to hear that our extremely popular server is unbearable for you. We do our best to please everyone in our community, but alas we can't please everyone.

1) Shoot instead of "hop" when you are surprised.
2) Don't C4 jeeps and go tank hunting.
3) Join a jet squad if you want to fly.

That should solve 75% of your problem. I personally knew and play with a lot of regular non-supporting memeber here and I dare say almost all of them were never being kicked once due to conduct. Having rules and enforcing them is the only thing we got to provide our like minded players a place to enjoy the game.

Re: Feedback

I know SlingBlade has served in my squad in the past. I encourage you to try again, but there is a quick and easy way around the Supporting Member kick. Become a supporting member yourself. My guess is that as you learn more and more about TG you will find yourself becoming a gamer who shuns public servers as a whole. We have high standards and I know that eventually you would become a stellar member for TG.

But you know what, if it's not something you can do for whatever reason. Keep in mind that we currently have 2 POE servers and one of them will always have less demand (meaning you get kicked less) than the other. Also, to prevent "Rules" kicks, read through our Rules and SOP's. It breaks down what TG stands for. http://www.tacticalgamer.com/battlef...ncements-sops/

Hope you reconsider as I know that we have had good times on the battlefield.

Re: Feedback

Hey SlingBlade - thanks for the feedback - as other's have noted, you're experience seems VERY atypical, and I hope you give the community another shot.

Admins: Can the 2 slots be made reserved (in the official BF2/EA sense)? so the server will truely be "Full" for non-SM's when it's 62/64.

No, although we are always exploring other alternatives.

Re: Feedback

There is another server, TacticalGamerZ.com, that plays completely diffrent from our servers and is in no way related to us, so that may have been where the TK (if any) took place.

Most of the kicks you are seeing at the top of the screen are squadless kicks. Our servers require you to join a squad or you will be kicked within 90 seconds, and (although more than ample warnings), pubbies don't join squads and get autokicked.

Don't tell everyone that. I depend on the squadless kicks to get on during busy times.. lol

Re: Feedback

It won't affect that. If any pubbies visited these forums enough to see my post, they would know about the kick by the Rules and such .
