Password Night Awesome Idea!
I just wanted to drop a line and say how much I enjoyed password night last night. After 6 (long) hours of class, and then having to download the 1.4 patch, I was treated to about an hour or so of true gaming bliss!!
Both teams were organized and playing hard. I myself fell in Marstein's squad, and he was tasked by the commander to hold a bridge. We dug in and set up a minefield and an RPG ambush, weary of an attack. We waited for awhile, as is common in battle, and then everything began to happen very quickly. 3 Ukrainians had managed to infiltrate our perimeter and were suddendly on the flag! As Marstein and I adjusted to this new threat, our distant RPG ambush began firing at an advancing tank column. We killed the infiltrators with machine gun fire and grenades but I was killed in the process. As I was waiting to respawn, our RPG man had been blown to ribbons and the tank column was approaching very quickly. They were killing us off one by one with a barage of cannon and machine gun fire. I was sure of certain immediate death, .... and at that moment our Attack Helocopter came roaring directly overhead of my position, firing furiously at the armor. The enemy was immediately decimated and the stragglers on foot were picked off with sniper fire. THAT WAS AWESOME. Point Of Existance is to BF2 as DC was too BF1942. With TG teamwork and a controlled password server, it is THE ideal gaming experience. Any of you guys have similar experiences last night??? |

Re: Password Night Awesome Idea!
Welcome to TG! I'm very glad to hear the password night was a success. In the early days of bf2 we used the password nights to ensure players had at least visited the forums (and presumably read the sops and rules). I think those were some of my favorite nights and was a part of what made me decide to contribute back to the community that could create such great play by becoming an SM.
A big thanks to the admin team that makes all this happen!

Tonight was some of the best rounds I've had with PoE2.

Re: Password Night Awesome Idea!
Tonights PW games were some of the best games I've seen in months. Every game was pretty close, both sides won different maps, I saw a lot of tight teamwork and some faces from BF2 past. Great games everyone. Glad to see the passworded nights living up to expectations.

I couldn't agree more. Granted the server wasn't as full but some of the best gameplay I've seen. Bravo!

Re: Password Night Awesome Idea!
What's really cool is that two weeks in a row, I have a great appreciation for the Twilight's post. When the original post happened, I was the CO that night receiving the call from Marstein at that flag. Squad 2 (Chopper squad) was down after being shot down and running for the chopper. Marstein's squad spotted the tanks causing them to flash on my screen, so that's where I set the Move marker for the chopper. It gives me goosebumps to read the impact of giving only that small bit of help.
Last night, Santa was the CO and I was the SL at the bridge. There were 3 tanks moving to the west of our position and their artillery zero'd in on our location. We placed a MayDay to Santa and not only did we receive the necessary chopper support, but |TG-2nd| James rolls up with his tank from the southern flag to flank the tanks giving us enough firepower to destroy the attackers. Password night brings some of the best coordination between squads and absolutely the best teamplay within squads. Lucky Shot |
