TacMod September 07

Another fantastic night for TacMod! I joined right at 2000 EDT and didn't realize the new faces were WOW people until I just now read that they
were showing up. Whoops!

I don't remember all the particulars but between 2000-2200 we only played two maps; Jibbel City and Mashtuur.

Jibbel City was already under way when I joined so I hopped in sajier's squad. Not knowing he was WOW (I'm obtuse) I went medic, but he left the squad and was then teamswitched leaving me in charge.

We (USMC) went back and forth with MEC over controlling the Square flag with neither side dominating the other. MEC grabbed the flag and were bleeding us with a score of approximately MEC 30 : USMC 10 when we retook the flag and induced bleed. Naturally the last five minutes of the round were filled with the sound of hearts pounding as the clock wound down and USMC scratched out a hard fought victory of less than 10 tickets.

Mashtuur loaded and our strategy was to hold the two easternmost flags and kill MEC as they assaulted, while their (well executed!) plan seemed to be to get those two flags neutral simultaneously and rob us of the ability to spawn.

I think no less than three times they neutralized all our flags but we managed to get at least one back and fight our way back into the game. Time ran out, and I don't remember the score but I think both teams had over 200 tickets left and the difference was only approximately 20 tickets, with USMC winning the round. Anyone remember specifics?

Great games, and thanks to the WOW folks that stopped by!

Yah, 36 hours without WoW means that the boys and girls are looking at the rest of our servers. Treat them right, show them what else TG has to offer...maybe we can pry them out of the WoW ghetto once in a while.

Fantastic games! Only had maybe 12-15 ppl total on the night, but the fighting was still intense, esp. Jibbel City.

Re: TacMod September 07

It was intense fighting, I had a lot of fun. Great teamwork on the USMC side, that's definitely how we came back in the first round and won it.

Good games last night, and great teamwork. E-Male is a great medic and Coridon kept that tank up for a lot of the round on Mashtuur. I tried to hide behind it a lot so the snipers would leave me alone.

Re: TacMod September 07

This was the first time I have had the opportunity to play with TG on BF2, being one of the WoW guys, and I had an absolute blast. I got slaughtered many times, but dang was it fun dropping C4 off the roof of a 4 story building and watching the tank go boom .

Thanks so much to the regular BF2 crowd for putting up with us invading the server, I know we all had a great time and I think a few of us are looking forward to doing it again in the future and hopefully improving .

Thanks again guys!

Re: TacMod September 07

Thanks for joining us Sajier. I had a great deal of fun on Jibbel, until comcast decided I had had enough and got disconnected at the end. Sorry Guys!

I really enjoy the balance we have been able to achieve in the mod. The tanks were powerful, but very beatable with proper tactics. Great rounds even in lower pop games!

Yeah, sorry Coridon, you didn't want to follow me anyway, I didn't know what the heck I was doing . I just joined a squad first so it made me SL.

Re: TacMod September 07

So are we going to be able to draw some of you WoW people over for Tac Mod nights?

Re: TacMod September 07

I intend to come on Thursdays for sure, Sundays are usually one of our big Raid nights, so not sure about that.

I will see what I can do.

Heh All I wanted was to get on the building between you two flags with my squad, I ordered my squad to consider it ucb to not end up with whack-a-mole. But I just couldn't get to the ladder without greying the flag twice. It was good playing, especially from the wow guys there.

I do hope for a little more attendance, two squads per team is a good game for me.
