Recruitment window of opportunity

I just found out today that EA have confirmed that BF2142 will be out 17th Oct,
thats about 5 wks away, we have a full POE2 server now, and thats great,
but this could well diminish sharply when BF2142 comes out

So I suggest we all make a point of asking new names to the server if its their first time on our server
and explain how we do things and suggest they visit our forums

in general, make the recruiting hay while the sun shines

Re: Recruitment window of opportunity

I thought the players in ourt squad last night were pretty good when it came to teamwork Silv. - With your usual high standard to Squad Leadership too.

We worked well as a team, and I had not played with the non TG'ers before, but I am sure they will be back.

Great game last night mate, and I will engage players on this question of staying with TG POE server.

Nice one,

Glen.

thx

I've been doing the squad teamwork bit, as per normal,
it just occured to me that I wasnt particularly talking about TG to the new folks and helping to bring them into the community

Good Idea Silver

When leading a squad I`ll mention it before every map.

VOIP only though.

I would suggest you may be being a little harsh on yourself there buddy.
I think those guys will remember where they had that game. They will hanker for the teamplay aspect - especially if they went back to pubbies. !

When I first started on TG it was playing in one of your squads that bought me back for more. If you remember last night mate, they were very quiet, but when you started dishing up orders and suggestions it all just clicked in to place.
That said, not all squad leaders do what you do, and after you left I played more in another squad. Whilst they were a technically excellent squad - the squadleader didn't engage his squad in the way you do. So even though I really enjoyed playing with them, it all seemed a little sterile due to lack of voice-coms.

Trust me mate, playing in your squad will always see player coming back to TG, but your point about reminding them of what TG is all about is very valid.

Just keep doing what you do as SL - it is the best advert this community can have.

Good idea, but don't recruit blindly. We don't want immature players that are don't get what we are doing, and are just going to get banned when they tangle with an admin.

Then again, I saw alot of good teamwork on the server, so maybe my warning is premature. I hope so.

Re: Recruitment window of opportunity

I can't play on pubbies anymore. I tried last night and found it to be too frustrating. i kept thinking "humm.... It sure would be nice to have a squad member with x kit right here. er.... ummm..... Strike that. It sure would be nice to have an actual squad!"

Newbies quickly learn to appreciate and, dare i say, crave participating in a great round of poe2 with effective use of squads, even if you lose the round! As recent newbie, I am proof that this occurs. I say this explains why the server is full 99% of the time I try to join in.

Re: Recruitment window of opportunity

Good squad play is what brought me along here and i'm recommending your forums and server to my buddies.

First time I played on your server was last week, and started a squad and had a mate along.

With the enforced 'join a squad or get kicked ' setting, the squad quickly filled.

How refreshing it was to have six guys, actually sticking to what i was after, which was on first snow, of taking the bases on the left flank, and defending the base nearest the german UCB. Rather than on a normal pubbie, after a flag has been taken, everybody wants to advance on there own, and normally get slaughtered. We set up a solid defense, and hardly lost a life, when the germans attacked, and repelled all advances from heli and armour

Felt real good, and was a pleasure playing with the guys in the squad, none of which were TG tagged.

Played the server a few times since, and every time have had nothing short of good experiences.

The play on the server is the greatest advertisement for TG you can have.

Top stuff TG, and look forward to playing alongside ya all.
