Tactical Mod 9/28

We had around 26 players for most of the night and even regained that amount after one server crash. The games were fairly close and we had some intense battles both on and off the flags.

I went through several server connection issues which sucked because I was commanding but it didn't look like many others were having issues.

Great job to all of the players. I thoroughly enjoyed last Thurs night.

"Support game play in a near-simulation environment. Where the focus of play would not be solely on doing what it takes to win, but doing so utilizing real-world combat strategy and tactics rather than leveraging exploits provided to players by the design of the game engine, regardless of the level of advantage, if any, it gives over the opposing team." -- Tactical Gamer Primer

Re: Tactical Mod 9/28

I was having an alright time (would have been great if not for the poor internet capabilities) on Thursday. Too bad a storm moved through the area and the Washington, DC comcast is apparently run through cups and string.

I will be able to play Sunday's TacMod, so hopefully poor weather won't ruin it.

Those were great games that night. Both urban maps we played were very high quality games with great assaults and defensive stands. Good times.

I had a lot of fun in Beatnik's squad. My brother actually got to play with us for a bit (Brandrick) and he had to ask me today when we were playing tac-mod again.

Re: Tactical Mod 9/28

I had fun, but played like poo-poo! Normally I play fine on Thursdays (but leave for work so don't play long), and play poorly on Sundays (and can stay as late as I care to). I'm hoping I got all my "nasties" out Thursday so I can rock-n-roll this Sunday. BIG MONEY, NO WHAMMIES!!

I have to admit, though, that at least once during a round on OPERATION FROG I fall out of my chair because I step on an enemy I didn't know was there. It just wouldn't have the same effect if a bunch of red nametags were crouching in the darkness...

One time Thursday at the northern base I stepped on two guys lying prone in some brush but managed to kill them with my AK while screaming like a little girl. Another time I was moving south through the center of the map as a diversion for my squad making the "main assault". I saw something flash in front of me so I dropped and remained motionless as three shadows passed less than a meter in front of me. I followed them, figuring the SL would remain somewhere away from the flag as the squad members made their own assault. I scored the kill and remained on the scene to ensure he wasn't revived then continued on with my diversionary assignment. Moments like that are almost exclusive to TacMod...

Brandrick was your brother? You need to get him on the server and forums more! He was on outstanding medic (god knows I need a good medic) and very good team player.

So true.

*
Whimpinator, your brother did play very good, he saved our ***** plenty of times.

*
It was the first time that port fear was won by a rather big margin. Props to the CO for that, but the US did not use the tank from the beginning, and that played a big part in us gaining an early lead.

*
We should all make an effort to notify anyone joining the server of the current agreed rules (what is ucb, tanks or not).

*
If my damned ISP hadn't put me on smallband I'd upload the screens I always make. Hope to have it fixed tomorrow.

*Very nice to see more people online now that POE has lost some of it's novelty-appeal.

This is my "depressed stance." When you're depressed, it makes a lot of difference how you stand. The worst thing you can do is straighten up and hold your head high because then you'll start to feel better. If you're going to get any joy out of being depressed, you've got to stand like this. ~Charlie Brown
