POE UKR (right before PW started) 10-03
The map was ravine, I had been playing for a few rounds however this was the first round with a significant amount of people, I joined a squad called teamwork and we raced to the center position in order to secure the flag, and we did, however soon our position was over run and it became untenable. After we fell back to the UCB the SL dropped out and left me leading the squad, I didn't know it at the time though, SORRY! In any case we were pushed out of graveyard but a small recon team secured the far east flag, but for whatever reason disengaged, so I drove there. I then realized I was the SL and ordered a defense, it was too little too late. My squad didn't have time to drive over and soon a tank and two infantry over ran me and took the flag. But revenge would be ours. Realizing that we were stuck at the UCB till we got graveyard back I order the attack, another squad was ahead of us. A few of my SMs went in on foot, I took a tank and soon graveyard was ours. The push for the center flag was quickly becoming a stalemate. I didn't want my squad to get bogged down in this, so I ordered a movement to the far north bridge, then, in force, we overwhelmed the east flag with ease. We quickly set up rudimentary defenses. This outpost is by no means easily defended, the Germans had cut off from reinforcements from the west, and they had a large motor pool close by which they were not afraid to use. Also there are big clear approach paths to move APCs and tanks into. Nonetheless our defense was fierce, wave after wave after wave of leopards, jeeps and APCs ran into our defenses. We were not going to break easily today though.
One might say a good squad is a squad that is readily able to communicate effectively with each other, if this is true then a great squad is a squad that is able to be just as effective but only rely on intuition and minuet cues to tell ones next move. This is what we had today, the second someone went down a medic was there, med packs were also plentiful, as was ammo. Mines and C4 were used with devastating effectiveness. Infantry was quickly spotted and killed. As soon as a tank entered a predefined kill zone it had at least two AT rockets hit it. Although we were only a squad of 5 or 6 we fought like one of two or three times our strength. After several direct attacks with armor the Germans began to become more desperate. They employed just about every tactic one can think of given thier resources, some of the things they did I wouldn't call exactly TG. At times they would drive the mobile artillery piece right up to the flag and blindly fire into buildings. I even saw two of them parachute into the flag (I'm not sure how?). After awhile another smaller squad joined us in protecting one of our flanks. When the dust settled, after about thirty minutes of constant bombardment we had total control of the flag. The UKR lost the round, by 5 points (final score was 5-0) however I would not consider this a victory for them, if only because they could not gain control of an outpost so close to there UCB. My squad was stellar throughout the round, and it probably had nothing to do with my SLing abilities, it was more likely just a group of very good players in a coordinated effort with an unflinching will. Terrific work my friends, this has got to be the most dedicated squad I have seen in awhile. |

Ditto your sentiments expressed above Sam. I played the Support role in your squad last night, and that defence of the East flag was one of the most brutal and intense experiences I've had playing BF2 (and its variants) for a long while.
![]() It was a pleasure playing with you and our fellow squad mates.
