Oct 4 CO's Report
I'll just open this thread before hitting the sack. Had some great team work on 3 or 4 maps tonight, with distinguished SLing by Luckyshot, Mantis, and (KYOT)Candy on my last map, Rolling Thunder, ending at around 11:30 pm. I think all three were also SLing on Orel (see below), and did so with great skill.
Will post some very interesting CO screenshot videos. I still cannot access my FTP TG server, will ask Apthos to reset name and password for me. Will make more effort to get all the names of SLs and map names for my reports. Tonight, aside from the usual one and two man squads that tend to be the source of problems, great cooperation all evening. Below is a link to the final battle, near midnight, on Orel. Mantis lead squad 8 and held Lumbermill, Luckyshot held Backyard, and Candy held Church -- I hope I have these right, and please forgive me for not making further notes. I used someone whose name I now forget, new to our server, SL of squad 4, to act as my floating reserves. He and his squad did very well. Watch the movement of squad four in the video below as I shift them to hotspots. Holding the three center flags on Orel, with three compentant squads and a good reserve unit should prove unbeatable. If a name is needed, I would call this the 'Strong Center' tactic. The enemy was split on either side of the map, diminishing their effectiveness. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmlmT8yY-CE I realize the YOUTUBE videos are illegible. Will post later in larger file size here on TG once I get my FTP working again. I would post to my own web site but ... E-Male

High Resolution Screen Capture Video Now Available
STRONG CENTRE TACTIC on OREL Watch the movement of squad four in the video below as I shift them to hotspots. Holding the three center flags on Orel, with three competant squads and a good reserve unit should prove unbeatable. The enemy was split on either side of the map, diminishing their effectiveness. Note that at the very beginnng squad four is attacking Farm House. I called them off of that attack, they responded well, and told SL4 that he is reassigned to the role of reserve support. Follow squad four as I move them around in their role. I put the main force near the enemy UCB. Aside from the roving reserve squad four, all squads were ordered to hold and remain with their assigned flag, with an occasional exception near the end when S5 was moved in to retake Church. There were no rouge players or undisciplined SLs. http://www.tacticalsites.com/~e-male/ -- Exceedingly good resolution Map was won with a force of: 6 stationed at Lumbermill (permenantly) 6 stationed at Church (permenantly) 12 stationed at Backyard (permenantly) 6 serving as Reserve unit We may want to consider building a CO screen video library (a thread that indexes such posts as this would do). Tech Details: File size: 21.9 MB Screen capture every 5 seconds, some screens deleted due to zooming in. Download on cable connection at approx 800mb/sec in under one minute. E-Male

Re: Oct 4 CO's Report
Now available:
CO's Screen Capture Video ROLLING THUNDER Oct 4th http://www.tacticalsites.com/~e-male/ E-Male COing for Ukraine Strategy: maintain three flags Note: No reserve squad in use. No complicated plans used or unusally sneaky orders issued Took command at minus 43 points (against our side) Won round at plus 44 points No grand stategy was used here. Had extreme discipline problems with about 4 non-TG squads. Note how Village is attacked from squads moving out against my orders from the UCB. After we lost Farm (which was well held throughout the first half), I shifted the plan to defend all our flags on the West side, and ordered that no attacks be make against the East side. This ensured our victory. File is 43MB, still acceptable given average size of a music video on Kazaa. Two minute downlaod on cable. Screen captures at every 5 seconds. Mantis again excelled at holding his flag. Other squad leader please remind me of your roles here. Note, in general, all one person squads (non-TG) are almost always a discipline problem. Very hard to spend time gathering details, writing down names, typing in a report and informing the ADMIN about these problems while commanding. Working on it though... E-Male

Re: Oct 4 CO's Report
Definitely a good game. I led squad 5. The funny thing is, looking at the video, it doesn't look like I moved at one point for 10 minutes. But we had the support we needed to hold our flag and in some moments, it really was pretty dicey as to whether we would hold it. Good round and thanks for all those who hit my squad!

Re: Oct 4 CO's Report
Dude, that video rocks... That's such a fantastic memory jogger as to what happened where. Again, we were squad 5, set out for the farm flag and held it against numerous choppers, quite a few pieces of armor from Shafik's squad and a couple of infantry insertions. When we did finally lose that flag we made a couple runs against the village, defended by the 33rd. For whatever reason, a couple of my guys had a key aversion against being in armor and they stubbornly paid for it when the 33rd stole the tank at the Village flag immediately after we flipped the flag.

Re: Oct 4 CO's Report
I looked at the high res version. File size was very good. Result excellent. I look forward to seeing e.g. a scrim after action report using this technique.
great work.

Re: Oct 4 CO's Report
Finally, the last CO screenshot video from Oct 4 is now uploaded at
http://www.tacticalsites.com/~e-male/ Ukraine, E-Male CO Highway to Hell (early in the evening, around 8 or 9 pm, GMT -4) Not much to say about this one. Mostly populated by undisciplined non-TGers. As a result, I had very little cooperation. Was killed while COing at our UCB by one .:CB:. Ermey four (4) times in a row. Admin kicked or banned immediately (thanks!). Two TG SLs (York and Grunt?) did provide the usual excellent cooperation, and Mantis was running an AA squad with skill. Half the round was fought with 4 one and two man squads refusing to follow orders. A least four times I saw the same squad take a flag and IMMEDIATELY leave it empty as they attacked another. I will have no patience for this in the future and, after a few polite querys to the SL, will frankly yell at the SL until they either leave, explain themselves (this type of behaviour is often accompanied by silence), or play as a team. No team sport in 'meatspace' would tolerate such flagerant abuse of the rules of the game, and I see no reason why we should. This was the first game of any size that evening, and as I have often seen, was also the worst played, as far as rules and teamwork are concerned. It may be a pattern that bad behaviour is weeded out as the night progresses and more TGers and welcomed regulars populate the server. I have no desire to play hard-ass with bad behaviour, but perhaps the missing element here is CO who provides firm verbal correction of bad behaviour along with the role of the Admins. I do not want to exceed my authority, and will continue to report the most flagrant of misbehaviour to Admins, but first I will provide direct verbal feedback to the problem SL, as I believe is outlined in our SOPs. Enjoy the videos! E-Male
