That wouldn't make any difference at all.

Why can't people just go back to BF2 if you don't like 2142? It gets really annoying for those of us that do like it.

I think "liking it" and "realizing it needs some SERIOUS work to be playable" are not mutually exclusive concepts.

I like it, but I think it needs a ton of work. It reminds me of BF1942. When it first came out, I loved it. But I shelved the game for over a year before trying it again because it was just so horrid at release.

Lol...too funny. Yeah they, Dice and EA, will probably screw it up AGAIN, but hey...there are other games out there. Besides, they will eventually get it right. Hopefully. BF2 is starting to change for the better. lol

In a perfect world? Sure.

This is where this type of threads should be gathered... In my opinion TG community is above and beyond this. Please do not infect us. I do wanna say some more, but this is one time thing right?

Re: Boycote EA; Dice Do not buy it, until they fix it!!!!

I hardly think a pre-release anti-EA rant should be a part of this forum. We will all have plenty of time to share our good and bad opinions about the full version when it is released. Can someone delete or lock this thread?

Re: Boycote EA; Dice Do not buy it, until they fix it!!!!

This could just as easily have been posted in the Thoughts on BF2142 thread. I'd merge this myself, but I don't have mod rights in this forum.

As most of the posters above, I agree that 2142 doesn't need its own hate thread. BF2 had similar issues for a good few months after release and still has small latent problems. Boycotting a game is a good 'personal' way to let your wallet do the talking. Inciting others to do the same with rant threads isn't really productive. EA haven't ripped us off here or done anything evil. They have just made a game which is sub-standard in your opinion (and mine incidentally).

The demo is for evaluating the game and deciding whether it's worth the cash. Easiest solution: Don't buy it. Let others make their own choice based on your well thought out contribution to the thread linked above.

Re: Boycote EA; Dice Do not buy it, until they fix it!!!!

with this ad system i dont see EA losing to much money by a person or 4 boycotting the game. They are still gonna charge the same high price for a maldeveloped game + receive money for showing the playboy billboard ( "tracking my Internet habits").

And honestly i think a thread like this is way different then a thread of the same title on those other BF2142 forums, at least here we can have a smart discussion and not end in bashing people because they smell funny or are Tom cruise wanna-bes.

The ad system somewhat concerns me, and I will probably find my own way of preventing my machine from reporting ANYTHING back to any centralized server, but I've still got the game ordered and won't be cancelling the order.

I think it's going to need some work out of the gate, and I probably won't play it much until the necessary slew of patches come out, but I think in the end it will be a good game.

Re: Boycote EA; Dice Do not buy it, until they fix it!!!!

O dont get me wrong its got tons of potentional, especially here. But with all the ranking restrictions and little things i pitty our admin team and those involved with its being at TG. I dont plan on getting it because im still pissed about the nerf job of the M24.

I was just making the point that TG forums are different and shouldnt be compared to those other "tactical" forums

Ad system? I haven't heard anything about that. If it's not too much trouble, could someone post a link to info. Thanks.

Nevermind. I found a thread a few posts down named Spyware
