PW Night 10/18 Fallen

Had a blast in Jaymind's TG-7th Squad last night. We ran through Fallen for a 29-0 victory by holding onto the crash site for a good majority of the game, however also spent a little time at the North Cabin and Trenches. Bleak almost singlehandedly kept us from losing that map as medic with almost 126 Teamwork points. He ran with 52 revives and had he not been in that role, we would have lost by 23. Great squading up with Jmaker, Neophreak and Assassin who all were solid. Thanks again to Jaymind for giving me the opportunity to grunt in a squad too.

Server was very well populated last night, even with the new PW. Good to see so many TGers come out for the occasion.

Indeed. The last round I played ended around 12:30 EDT and that round had at least 50-55 players. One more thing, I don't see any bunny hoppers for the 3 rounds I've played.

Re: PW Night 10/18 Fallen

An awesome night. See related thread for my CO report.

Spent most of the night in 1stMIP JohnC's squad. Great teamwork. JohnC really knows how to keep an SL spawn point when under pressure. He executed a few strategic 'advances to the rear' when we were overwhelmed, which preserved our spawn position and kept the fallen flag under constant challange. The key here is communication within the squad -- let the squad leader know when all is lost and get the hell out of there.

Can't emphasize enough the value of an SL callling for retreat once it is clear that the force ratio is overwhelmingly in the enemy's advantage. Retreat, regroup, wait a few moments, then send out fireteams.

The game is so much better when fire is coordinated on an enemy. One on one firefights are a crap shoot, except for a few TGers. Get two or three firing on the same target and you win every time. Hard lesson to learn, hard to coordinate, but awesome to see in action.

Also spent some time in SANTA's squad on Fallen -- I can't praise his situational awareness enough. I learn more playing with Santa in one round then I do in a month. Squad up with Santa and do what I often try to do when playing with a superior player -- stay to his back and watch him (or her, as the case may be).

What I saw in Santa was a keen use of cover and posture -- very seldom is Santa up front -- makes execellent use of cover, moves to support unsupported flags, will hold a position long after others have rushed off, and often engages the enemy on his terms from a distance (although we are all familiar with the feel of his blade...). Always relaying vital information and no nonsense. Not the same style as JohnC at all, but an equally skilled player with a more aggressive style of SLing that I would never emulate, for lack of good shooting skill, but one that I will always be a student of.

Re: PW Night 10/18 Fallen

Oh, theres plenty of nonsense coming from me

That was a fun fallen round though, especcialy how we took the north cabins from them. We were all up north near the river, completely pinned with no hope of even getting close to the flag. I noticed 2 of my guys were dead (one being the medic, emale) and so i moved south telling everyone that was alive to stay up there and survive as long as possible. Kind of formed 2 impromptu fireteams.

Once i was down south, i moved up to the flag along the hill completley undetected. Once we got there my two guys started capping the flag, and i silently knifed 2 of their guys that were firing on our other fireteam. We shortly lost the flag to what i think were 2 full squads, but thats beside the point...

Re: PW Night 10/18 Fallen

Good games last night all around. Although, I was not on the ball at all SL'ing 3-4 rounds so I need to apologize to my squadmates - I'm usually much better than I was last night but 3 14hr days in a row takes it out of ya.

The excellent people in my squad really made up for my lack of skills and clumsiness last night. Great job neo, jmaker, assasin and lucky and a few others who I'm sorry I can't remember.

My shock paddles were very worn out after last night. Man, I barely even had time to pull out my gun.

Just to echo everyone's comments here it was a blast playing with an excellent TG squad last night. Props to everyone in our squad. Having other great players to play alongside with is what makes the game fun.
