Server Lag 7:30PM EST

I've never seen lag this bad ever! The server is at 48 players and people can't hit a single thing. Everything is rubberbanding all over the place. When I can't kill a guy with 3 in-your-face shotgun shells, something is wrong! This isn't playable. Something must be done about this.

Hypernia sucks! See ya'll on the public servers.

Plus, the lag allowed me to stay alive a lot longer. I felt invincible!!

Re: Server Lag 7:30PM EST

The server never gets rebooted, hence it lags.

Been in there just now, 54 players only had it spike once for a ms.

Reboot your servers, and it'll be fine.
Probably might want to up the slots to the 64 slots again if you ask me.

Re: Server Lag 7:30PM EST

For me the only lag occurs are on the Northern Strike server, but when it does lag for a couple of seconds, everybody I asked in team speak gets it too. On the conquest server everything is fine and dandy for me-- rarely lags! I think the server likes to plays favorites I've noticed though a lot of people get different types of ping/latency on the stats and there is a lot of variability with the lag- I wonder why this is the case--

Re: Server Lag 7:30PM EST

Just to let you all know, Jelle is our technical rep with Hypernia. Hypernia is the company that is graciously sponsoring our BF2142 Northern Strike server. The issue of not rebooting our server regularly has been brought up as a potential issue so we're going to explore that as a solution. Hopefully it will help eliminate our server related lag issues!

Thanks for the input, Jelle!

Knowing BF, that's probably the case.

Re: Server Lag 7:30PM EST

Note this is also a very old thread from October last year. We have since been issued a new server which is much improved.

Non-constructive posts like this are just begging someone to put this thread out of its misery.

Re: Server Lag 7:30PM EST

Never even noticed.

The topic though was brought to my attention recently though, so i played in the server a few times.
It indeed lagged, checked the uptime.
Which said it had been up for 40 days.

Anyway it got rebooted often enough since, though it still crashed to often.

In fact, according to Game-monitor (depending if i'm reading it right) 400 or so times.
So a new server's been deployed this morning.

Hopefully, that will clear the crashing as well.
Next to the regular rebooting ofcourse to fix the lagging i myself experienced on it the day i posted my above reply.

Either way, I'm sorry for the bump up there.

Good thing being that it did lead to those two issues being resolved

PS Ggz to all TG and affiliates, and new IP/Port 216.32.85.114:17567

Sweet, thanks. I thought we were going to have to move the conquest to #2 and NS to #1. Can't wait to give it a whirl.
