Recon's spotting abilities.
Something I've noticed with my recon sniper of late and wanted to see if anyone else has simliar experience in kits other then recon.
Whenever I play as recon I get little icons for any squad beacons, and explosives etc on my hud if I'm close enough (seems to be some 20m?). Same happens if I view something through my sniper rifle that is normaly too far away for me to get an icon. Now I KNOW this happends for friendly stuff like mines etc. But I've been able to pick off some 5 or more enemy spawn beacons via my sniper unlock just by scanning with the scope in the area the enemy spawns. Even if the actual becon object is not visible (burried inside some other game object etc) I can still shoot at the icon and blow it.. Soo.. is that acid still in my system and I'm seeings things? |

Re: Recon's spotting abilities.
I don't know if the sniper rifle or recon class gives better spotting abilities for spawn beacons and such. I've seen the icons while playing other classes. Maybe it's a feature if you're looking at something long enough it gets shown in your hud.

Re: Recon's spotting abilities.
I love the Recon's Netbat, lets me run around and track their movement without the risk of being shot. As for the Rifle and spotting, it does seem to help a lot when spotting, Safe and silent... as long as you don't fire.

Re: Recon's spotting abilities.
Yea the NetBat is great for tracking enemies and friendlies; it will spot ANY enemy object/man/vehicle as long as you are within range (including enemy mines). Also it is not true that the functionality of the NetBat system improves if you are in/near a squad - the only thing different is if you spot an enemy and you track him passively while one in your squad kills him, you will get not only a damage/kill assist but also an '..in the order radius' point. Also you can help anti-air cannon defense by zooming into a distant enemy aircraft and the friendly gunner near you will be able to lock on from farther away.. it's pretty sweet.
