1: Where do I find the Tactical Gamer servers?

Server 1 is located in the Virginia datacentre and will mostly be running 50 player conquest:




The Conquest server plays 2 rounds per map, switching teams at the end of each round for balance. Squads are emptied at the end of each round, so don't forget to form up again when the round starts or you'll get kicked by the auto-admin script. We alternate maps between infantry and combined arms and try to keep a good mix between assault and double assault maps.

Server 2 is currently running Titan maps.

3: How do I report a problem player?

4: Why was I kicked or banned?

There are a few innocuous reasons you may have been kicked / banned:

1. To make room for a Supporting Member. Supporting Members are entitled to reserved slots on all of our servers and we kick the longest playing Non-Supporting Member to make room for them.
2. You forgot to join a squad. Playing as a team is mandatory on TG servers. We don't allow lone wolves.
3. There is a bug when switching teams at the end of the round where you are still in the same squad as last round, but unable to leave it. Unfortunately, the game registers you as being squadless, so you can get picked up by the squadless kick. The only way to correct this is to disconnect from the server and rejoin. Sorry, we don't have any control over this.
4. Immediately upon loading into the server. This is also part of the SM Reserved Slot script. See below for how it works.
5. 4 people punished you for teamkills in a round. The ban only lasts one round and is automatic. Please jump on TeamSpeak to let us know. Also, punishing accidental teamkills can get the punishing player kicked, so please report any player who punishes accidental teamkills.

If the above don't apply and breaking one of our rules got you banned, do not start a thread in the forums. Send a PM to only one of our admins and tell them your in-game name you were using at the time. Preferably, you will have seen the name of the admin who banned you when you were kicked, so it is best to PM the admin who banned you. If you don't receive a response within 24 hours, please send me a PM and I will sort it out.

5: I am a Supporting Member, how do I claim my reserved slot?

Update your forum user profile with your Battlefield 2142 Player ID.

7: Can I wear the TG tag?

Yes, you can. Provided you have read all of the details linked in this FAQ and you understand the 2142 Rules. Make sure you are very clear about the rules before you wear the tags, because TG-tagged players are shown no mercy when it comes to rule breaches. If you are found breaking an obvious rule while wearing a TG tag, you can expect at least a 1 week ban to give you time to refresh your memory of the rules.

The tag looks like so: |TG| or |TG-Xth| for in-house squads. Note that we use pipes, not the letter "L" or the letter "I". When you enter a pipe into the clan tag section of your login screen, it will not appear in the text field, but it is in fact entered into the field. You can just type it into the field and accept that it will show in-game, or do the following:

1. Go to: My Documents\Battlefield 2142\Profiles
2. Open Notepad from Start Menu > All Programs > Accessories > Notepad and open: My Documents\Battlefield 2142\Profiles\Global.con from within Notepad using File > Open.
3. On the line GlobalSettings.setNamePrefix "", set it to GlobalSettings.setNamePrefix "|TG|" The pipe is entered using Shift+/ at the bottom-right of your keyboard.
4. Save the file and start BF2142.

Hello TG CLAN

Well I was joining your sever & it said 90 secs to join. Well every 27 secs I get kick off the sever. I even counted myself. So I can't even get in your sever at all. So I was woundering to made it 120 secs to join maybe that will help.

Granted I live on a Pirate Ship in the waters outside TG, but It still counts IMO.

I was just playing and was kicked by either an admin or by vote. I highly doubt it was vote because I was in 1st place and trying to do my best for the squad.

Umm... Why?

And I don't think it was to make room because when I joined in again, it said the same thing, kicked by admin or vote.

One more question, if I buy a slot, will I get kicked to make room?

Supporting Members are never removed for joining players, but they can still be kicked/banned for rules violations.

That is just the default kick message that can't be changed.

Anyone know a cure for the bug that freezes you so you cant join a squad then kicks you off the server for not joining a squad? This is drives me crazy. It d be nice to get back to whatever squad you have a groove with for the day. I think this may be more of a rant than anything. Sorry.

Try to spawn in and then join a squad. That should work.

If you join a squad and drop out / get disconnected from the server you no longer can join another squad while dead.

I'm not sure that's the exact problem that Cylon is describing. I've had that happen to me when I was trying to change sqauds around after the game started and found out about the "once you spawn in the first time you have to be alive to change squads" rule. And it makes sense that you can't change while dead and filter a whole team through a squad leader's spawn location. It would be way too open for abuse by those that would tend to such things.

But, I've been hit by the bug that Cylon is talking about. The server thinks you're not in a squad, but your client thinks you are. You will show up in that squad on your client, and if another person joins in place of you it will show 7/6 people in the squad. You literally cannot leave your squad, because the client will send the "player wants to leave squad" request to the server, but the server knows you're not in one so it never responds with "player has left squad" acknowledgement. No matter how many time you try to leave the squad it won't send the proper acknowledgement to your client. It really should be coded so that if you try and leave a squad but the server thinks you're not in one it will tell your client you're out of one anyways so life can go on, but it does not.

When this happened to me I asked around in TS and got the answer that I pretty much found myself. You have to disconnect from the server and reconnect to reset/resync your squad status from a server-client standpoint. I usually kill the game reboot and relaunch too if I've been playing for a few hours, but a disconnect/reload should be sufficient.

As for getting back in your squad, well, next map rotation you'll have the same shot at the reverse auction snipe squad selection that everyone else has. Or, your SL can lock and invite.

I have no idea why I was banned from the TG server. I mean, I don't think I killed anybody on my same team. Anyway, I thought it was just a temporary kick off, but the next day it still stays I can't get on their. Any help would be great.
