Taking bases
Talking conquest here.
The most important thing in the game is to take tickets, and you want to take bases based on what will allow you to do this best. Ok, so unlike our BF2 set up there is no bleed unless you control all the bases. Which is very hard to do, and really should only be set as an objective, in my opinion, as a last resort. So thus you want to take bases that will allow you to kill faster than you are being killed. So the reasons to take bases is see are: 1) Important Vehicle spawn 2) Puts you in a better position to get kills. a) either a strong defence point B) or a flank point on the enemy 3) getting the enemy asset base. So what I am thinking is best is go for the bases that have the best defence set up. Then just set up camp there, since it is generally better to defend and wait for the enemy to come to you then charge over an open field to them. This could mean only holding the two strongest bases for the map, where there are 8 total. Just as long as you are well covered and killing more than your enemy. 1 base could even be enough, but you can open yourself to attack from all sides, and if the enemy does slip through and take the flag you have no back up. Of course you could go for the more aggressive route, and try to pin the enemy in bases with bad defensives and vehicles. Holding back and attacking them as they come out, also probably attacking from multiple sides. But you could waste a lot of tickets trying to get in such a position. Also it is a lot more likely that they can slip out and take other bases that are useful. Which kinda leads me back to the defence strategy. Any thoughts on this? |

Re: Taking bases
A side note, but the strategy guide says there's a ticket count started when a force controls over 50% of the bases, not all. It also states that the ticket count is not heightened the more bases you take. it's a constant amount. Is this true?

Re: Taking bases
Since silos are easily turned in 2142, a simple distraction and dropship should take any silo. Have 2 guys cause some commotion on one side of the silo area, then have the rest of your squad flank around and hide on the silo. A good defence can be set up on the flag (RDX, rollermines and claymores), but that allows the enemy to surround the silo. A dropship would work best as you can drop your men on the silo directly and get an overhead view of defences.
