Question Vonage. Small business phone/fax.

At home small business phone/fax line.

Greetings.

This is the third installment of Rick seeking wisdom of the TG community with regards to a personal training business he would like to start the first quarter of 2007.

Exploiting my High speed internet (15Mbps) I would like to use Vonage.

The 1500 minute out going calls per month with a fax line looks nice.
That is about 50 minutes a day for out going calls. More than enough to get the job done.

$39.99. The way I see it, I’d be paying $20.00 for a phone line and $20.00 for a fax line every month. The phone services look ever so tight. Plus, it being a business set-up I can deduct this as a business expense.

Click here for more details.: http://www.vonage.com/services_basic_sb.php

My questions are

1. Do you’ all recommend such a service?

2. What are some tips for coming up with a phone/fax number?

3. Do you’ all know of other better deals than this?

4. With the minutes I have left over at the end of the month, can I use these to talk to my future Russian Bride (Currently located in Puerto Rico)? Sure it is not business related, but how is anyone going to notice.

Feel free to post any comments or tips, they would be much appreciated.

Thanks Champs.

Re: Vonage. Small business phone/fax.

I use the Vonage Business Unlimited plan for my operation. I've used it for the past two years and have had no problems of note with it. Occassionally, I may not be able to access my voicemail online, but it is still available through telephone. The best thing I like about the service is that I can have all incoming calls ring my cellphone too. That way I only have one business number (Vonage) and dont have to give out my personal cellphone number. If I'm in the office, I pickup the desk phone and if I'm out, I pickup on the cellphone. Since it is Internet based, it is only as reliable as your service provider. Overall, I'm a loyal Vonage customer. It's inexpensive and it meets all my needs.

Hope it helps. Good luck.
