Friday evening - Learn TG squads
Early Friday evening I hopped on conquest and it was just Acid & me as the only TGers
I created a 'learn TG' squad, visitors joined my squad and it worked well, the 4 visitors to my squad pretty much played along and followed orders. Then a few more Tgers turned up, Bom, Exp, Jep, MrSparkle, getgooseon, arf We were all running 'Learn Tg' squads and it rocked All you need is two talking TGers and the 3 visitors really get into the swing of it, mic or no mic. In a way this doubles the number of active teamplayers in the server Exp commented that this 50/50 split was effective for him too It occurred to me that all you theoretically need is 20 TGers for a full on TG war 2 TG commanders and 3 'Learn TG' squads on both sides If all the visitors are playing along then thats 18 active teamplayers on both sides I really experienced a jump upwards in server quality with 'Learn TG' squads, even with not many TGers around..... How did you find your 'Learn TG' squads tonight ?

Had some great rounds as well. Played abunch this evening all while leading the LTG squad with alot of new names and had maybe one player who went off on their own. I think the Learn TG idea is working very effectively.
Thanks for all the TGer's who did help out and for those that I requested to form their own LTG squad. Especially my squad on Suez Canal - assaulting the flag closest to the bottom EU base was epic!

Re: Friday evening - Learn TG squads
I find that the only problem with TG squads is not the squads themselves, but the commanders that aren't utilizing TG squads to their potential.
Most of the time, I see commanders running and gunning. There isn't a way to give TG members preferential CO status, is there?

Re: Friday evening - Learn TG squads
I was on one of the TG squads on friday, and I have to say I haven't had that much fun on the game before. Now whenever I am on I just play on the TG server, is the most organized and fun that I have been on to date.
Thanks all for the good time, Hope to keep playing with you guys. -Yoyi |

Re: Friday evening - Learn TG squads
Indeed, I put in some serious hours on running LTG. It was a blast. I did have to kick the ocasional non team work individual, but for the most part, I had sooo manypotential TGers stepping up it wasn't funny. I had guys begging me to stay for one more round because we were functioning so well. I also see some of these names as regulars on the forums now, so something must be working.
Plus out to Calun and Yoyi...although I have to admit I thought his name was Yogi in the game Sorry dude. And more to Silver and Acid for backing me up. |

Re: Friday evening - Learn TG squads
I had a great time on Belgrade SLing a LTG with exp626 in my squad and a few visitors, we played as the fast reaction squad for falling flags and it felt like full TG all the way. On that round Bom's LTG squad got top squad and it was just Bom and 5 visitors.

Re: Friday evening - Learn TG squads
I had a blast running around Friday. I had a Learn TG squad going full force in the early hours, then I went and got some chow and later joined up with Experiment and stayed there for multiple hours of more TG fun.

Re: Friday evening - Learn TG squads
I am really looking forward to tonight. I haven't played for more than an hour this whole week and I am going to make it all up this weekend.

First full night for me on the servers with the changes and it went great. I saw alot of new faces and lead some great squads. Got some new players over to TG and plenty that will stick around. Can't remember everyone but thanks to all and everyone played together perfectly.
Also I did play four or five rounds on Titan and was fully populated for most of them. Surprisingly there was very little lag so perhaps it was the lower player count or I was getting lucky.

Re: Friday evening - Learn TG squads
I had a great squad last night for a few rounds, but I am really annoyed that my binds don't save. I have insert set for TS talk, and I unbound it to another key so it wouldn't create a new squad every time I talked, but it didn't save it so I kept getting swiched out. Sorry to the multiple Learn TG squads I created and then got swiched out of, but we eventually got in the same squad (LearnTG3) just as the round ended. Another sorry for later on, I got complaints that my mic was too quiet, so I have to look into that.
On another note, I got two pages of awards at the end of one map . 2 Infiltrator pins, 2 combat efficency, 1 distinguished combat, recon silver badge and my next rank. |
