almost bought Fsx yesterday but opted to get the Company of Heros instead, how is Fsx??do you recommend? are you using mouse keyboard or flight joystick?

I use a crappy MS Sidewinder joystick, but I'm considering investing in either a yoke or a Saitek X52 plus pedals. Or asking for it for Xmas from my girlfriend because she loves the game just as much as I do so far.

Here are some comments I made in the FSX thread about my impressions. Basically I love the game so far, I haven't been able to pull myself away from it. If you do get it, make sure you get the Deluxe version.

yeah I will def get the Saitek x52, saw it at best buy (any excuse to spend money) plus I'm sure it just gives the true feel of flight..also, why do you recommend the deluxe version??what are the benifits of it?

Extra planes, extra functionality, and the Garmin G1000 is very nice.

Nice pics. What are your graphic settings H M L? What are your Hardware specs?

It's hard to sum up what my graphics settings are... I have various differend saved profiles depending on where I'm flying. I think in those SS's, my settings are mostly in the medium range. AA is off, AF is Bilinear.

Specs:

AMD Athlon 64 3500+
GeForce 6600GT 128MB
1GB RAM (512x2)

My FPS is locked at 15, which is actually just fine for this simulation. There are verey rarely any stutters with that. If I'm doing things like the air races though, I put my settings down to low to bump the FPS cap up to 25. There are a ton of tweaks you can do to the game apparently. I have yet to try them, but I'm sure I can squeeze more FPS out of it on my setup.

Hey Evo just got FsX lastnight, let me know if you wanna get together and play..maybe you can show me the ropes...didn;t get the joystick yet bc while we where there my daughters wanted toys so for now I am gonna use the microsoft xbox360 contoller or mouse and keyboard...if you have xfire then add me as friend (rookie3) if not juts post back
